I am going to paint this waterfall for sure. I identify with these scenes. I was born in Canada and live in Australia and each country has their own individual beauty. Only been painting for 6 months. I agree… keep painting the same thing until it becomes second nature. You learn something new with painting. Thank you ✨🎨

This is such a wonderful lesson - (and the color mixing with Pthalo blue was helpful for me....I just don't use it enough - and now I think I have some new faves!! 😀

I love where the aqua color is creeping up the dark rocks on the right side of the painting--spontaneous! Love it.

I never tire of watching your waterfall paintings. They''ve become one of my obsessions. I'd forgotten all about this little nugget, with the waterfall that keeps me up at night. The phthalocyanine blue and yellow are magic together! Powerful, majestic body of water. I can literally hear the sounds of that waterfall as you paint this, Angela.

Beautiful painting! I love that dagger striper brush you're using. :-) I would love to see you paint rocky streams or creeks with water reflection. I have always been intimidated by plein air work because it is difficult for me to replicate the beauty of nature. I do like the heart led approach and maybe I can paint outdoors with my heart instead of my brain. I live near Sedona Arizona and there are so many breathtaking scenes to paint. Thank you for your thoughtful tutorials Angela! 😀

Your tutorial is exemplary! You impart a lot of knowledge in a few minutes. I have two photographer friends who have given me license to use their photos and many are waterfalls and water tumbling over rocks. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

I just returned from The Canadian Rockies and our last park in Canada was Wells Gray Provincial Park in BC. There are so many beautiful waterfalls, and now you have encouraged me to practice until I am happy with what I paint! I have always shied away from waterfalls are because they are difficult, but this tutorial has inspired me. Thank you!

Just in time for my vacation to Kimberley BC. A little stop at Lundbrek Falls, the desolate rack of Franks slide and we stay within a couple of blocks of Marysville Falls. All scenes that I can use some of these techniques. Thank you for sharing with us!

Thank you Angela! I enjoyed painting this scene. I think I’ll try a second time with what I learned the first time through :)

great perspective and advice, as always! the comments at the end about the viewer and the way the eye travels over the focal point and the not so favorite parts was liberating for me!

Love this, would like to see more of this quasi-heart-led/quasi-realistic style. Landscapes, florals, maybe a bird? Thanks so much.

Boy this really is gorgeous, Angela, thank you. And all of the water you're using to paint, dilute, thin, create texture, in real time lends even more to the waterfall aspect for our eyes. I loved how you created your neutrals! Angela Fehr = color ballerina! Fanna Turano Denver, CO

Hi Angela, I'm packing to go on a trip but I saw this video and it inspired me to pull out my paints and paint this scene. Well I don't know if I can right now but maybe later. If I do paint this I'll try to post it on Facebook. Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone. Happy painting. 😊😎FL.

Love this tutorial!! I dream of the day when I will be able to paint with ease as you do. Would you please tell me the colors you used to make the rocks on the left side of your painting. I have replayed it, but still am unclear as to the colors you used. Thank-you again for sharing with us all.
