If you only see one "paint drying" movie this year, make it this one. Never has "paint drying" been depicted so graphically on film. Breathtaking. The "paint drying" genre will NEVER be the same. The bar has been raised. Just wished the title hadn't spoiled the ending.
Never has a movie affected me as much as this one. I laughed, I cried, I screamed and rejoiced as the paint finally dried. I have to say the best part was when the paint was drying. I hope I didn't spoil anything there!
Lynes directorial debut is sure to shake the mainstream film industry. The juxtaposition of the themes of both drying and no longer being wet shines a light on the duality of our condition. Painful at times, I left feeling uplifted, and dare I say it, slightly more hopeful. Without leaving a spoiler, I will just say that the journey of the paint from immature drip to hardened dry wall covering was not without twists, only the strength of purpose of the main character ensured ultimate fulfillment. Surely, a lesson for us all. Five stars.
This movie showed me what life meant. As this wall dried he experienced love hate sorrow happiness and so many other complex emotions. The ending when he’s finally dry means that he’s ready to go on to the next stage can’t wait for the sequel called „ the second coat“ oh how revolutionary that will be
LOL Actually I was just kidding, and the movie you linked to can hardly be the same, considering this is a solid wall and that is a wooden plate. but thanks anyways for the reply. ^^
And at about 6.5 hours the camera is kicked by someone who says "oh fuck this shit is running" and put it back. That is the reason that it has to be rated "R". Of course it needs attentive watching but I trust them just doing that. 😀
