Hey there Paul…again. I loved the mountain seclusion tutorial! But I wanted to share something about the other video with the birch tree. I tried your technique sort of scraping and rounding the trunk with a palette knife and I made a pretty cool looking tree. But what’s more, I accidentally made a knot hole!! I think I’m really going to enjoy this painting thing. Thanks again!!

Sorry I meant to say that I’ve never heard of black gesso before the seclusion video. Heck, I’d never heard of gesso period. Anyway I’ve got some on order. When it gets here I’ll revisit seclusion and give it a go.

I really really love this!🥰 Beautiful. I like your painting a lot more than Bob's(shhh🤫 don't tell). I should be back to painting with enthusiasm again soon as I have a new muse(a puppy). I found my new puppy, Trumpet, at the same rescue as my sweet dog, Nixon, that passed. He'll be joining us in 12 days, when he's 8 weeks old. I'm not looking forward to my canvases and brushes getting chewed on but i guess that will happen, at least for a few months😜

Oh your welcome Sylvia. The postage to Australia ( or is she at the end of the yellow brick road? ) will be a killer. Check first as I sent a couple of paintings to the USA and needed a sit down with a hot cup of sweet tea for shock. Maybe a smaller one on a canvas board would be easier to send too - Have fun and get those brushes working its less than 100 days to Christmas - oh bugger I've said the C word ... 😍😎

Wow! This is a real coincidence- the last painting I did was great until I ran out of foreground space. It was frustrating but I managed to take a break and returned with a new plan.. thank you Paul! I also was (still am) mesmerized by Bob’s snow application too. I use this to also make sand on beaches. Your mountains are so gorgeous… and the painting turned out so nice, your interpretation makes me want to try some night time mountains… bravery test ahead! Have a great week! Yes, a little accidental art. Sometimes my palette looks a little better than my painting! One of my teachers used to smear the left over paint onto a sheet of oil paper and make butterflies and all sorts of designs. He made a happy $ at the craft shows with them.

I paint with acrylic paints . What can I replace liquid clear to archieve such cloud effects?
@PaulRansonArt
@PaulRansonArt 7 месяцев назад
The $64,000 dollar question. TBH there's no direct equivelent. The two paints are complete oposites so its a case of experimenting with retarders to slow the drying times. Check out a range of acrylics called Atelier Acrylics from Australia. They use an unlocking spray to liquify dry acrylics for reblending - Good luck ! 😎

How long does it take for the liquid black
@PaulRansonArt
@PaulRansonArt 9 месяцев назад
Hi - liquid black is an oil based paint and like liquid white and clear it can take quite a while to become dry to the touch. If its in a warm environment this may be a few days, but much longer if its cold. 😎

As you can tell I'm new would it be okay to use a black canvas
@PaulRansonArt
@PaulRansonArt 9 месяцев назад
Hey no problem - its why I make them! A black canvas is exactly what I used to start my painting. Its actually a heavy paper ( lining paper from the DIY store ) painted with black acrylic and left t until completely dry before starting with oil paints. Acrylics are water based paints and must be dry as they don't mix with oils - Hope that helps @@josephzaitz2250

WHY DOES EVERYBODY COPY BOB ROSS PAINTINGS !!!!???? HOW ABOUT FINDING YOUR OWN PAINTING STYLE !!!! I DON'T SEE ANYBODY COPY REMBRANDT, PICASSO, GIGER, !!!!????
@PaulRansonArt
@PaulRansonArt 4 месяца назад
Hello Bengt. I gather from your comments that your a little frustrated. The answer is quite simple - its what Bob wanted beginners to do. The clue is the word 'beginners'. I'm sure if Picasso or Giger had made a TV show for beginners they would be copied too. Bob just wanted to provide a place for people to start their journey. To learn and get confident. Then to go on and develop their style. many millions have. I have too. Theres quite a few of my own paintings on the channel as well as the remastered versions of Bob's own work. I hope you can find a way to express your own art too. Kindest regards - 😃😎

Settle down dude. To me Paul's Bob Ross paintings are a much more refined version. Maybe like Bob's could have been if he had more time. I started painting in this style doing Ross paintings. Fastword 30 years now I can paint in almost any style.
