For this video, a lot of Color theory! But Seurat had such a way with colors! If you follow these advices please post your paintings on social media with the hashtag #mgfcpaint, so I can find them!! Cheers, see you soon!
Thank you so much! This video was completely awesome. I especially like how you created your colour wheel. You also made it a lot easier to understand how to paint like Seurat - I never realized that he created the shadows and highlights like that.
I love all of your “paint like a..” series! It’s one of the best breakdowns I’ve found on how to paint like these masters. Can you please do Monet lily pond painting and a painting like Matisse? Matisse’s art of different rooms is stunning.
What an amazing video, you are a great teacher and I loved your painting, I’ve always like Seurat and didn’t know how those paintings were made. so interesting and well explained. Thank you so much, can’t wait to see more videos. 🥰🖼
I love your channel so much! You have such a wonderful way of teaching, and your voice is zen and relaxing. Enjoying all the techniques so much! Thank you!
OMGOODNESS!!! I’ve been hunting for exactly this! Thank you. I’ve had a heck of a time putting together the color theory with practical application! Your ability to combine both of them has pushed me forward by weeks of self discovery!
Haha, thanks a lot! The trick is maybe to reach a “generic Color” first (I.e any green by juxtaposing blue and yellow), and then add dots to adjust to the Color you really want in that area?
What a very well detailed and clear explanations , I appreciate a lot and will try to apply your steps soon in a first canvas using this technique. Merci beaucoup fron France ;-)
Merci Paulo! Obrigado ! Je connais bien le Portugal et la région de Marinha Grande ou je suis allé plusieurs fois pour mon travail. Très beau pays et excellent cuisine!
I am so sorry. I do sign a bit with some friends or when I meet hard-of-hearing people. However, I am not doing it in this video. Maybe it’s the video playing in the background that was confusing?
This is wonderful.. one can learn so much by learning the techniques and thought processes of the great masters.. and you have explained it so well.. thank you so much.. I have subscribed..
These style videos are great! I'd like to see you tackle the styles of some of the more interesting contemporary artists like Peter Doig, Reg Mombassa, or Ian Saxby.
Love it. I'm bored to tears recovering from surgery, but I can paint. Just stumbled on your videos and now I'm having the time of my life. Can't wait to take a nap, then get a canvas ready! THANK YOU, Does the #mgfcpaint work on Facebook?
Thanks Becky! First of all, I wish you a speedy recovery!!! Get well soon! And yes, you can use the #mgfcpaint on Facebook, insta or Twitter. I check them regularly before making new videos
Thank you very much! Yes! Modigliani is in my to-do list! A bit of patience because these videos actually require a lot of research and pre-work (which is why I only do around 1 video per month…)😩
I love this video! Thanks so much for making it. I finally learned how to pronounce George Seurat too! :D I recently fell in love with The Channel of Gravelines, Grand Fort-Philippe and while I don't think it's up for auction by the National Art Gallery in London, I MAY be bold enough to try to recreate it. Is this crazy ambitious?
@@mygeekfamilycotton There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity. I'll ponder if I'm going to do this for real for my new flat and if I decide, I'll definitely tag you. Anyway - new subscriber. Keep going, you're fantastic! :)
@@mygeekfamilycotton that's a good question. I don't know, but I can dig into it. I like Benton's life story and art, he knew how get commissions and press for it. Love your channel and all the practical art education. We need more of it in America and abroad. Thanks
Hello! I would say no because the idea is to decompose the light/Color in the primary colors. So in wet-on-wet, you might mix the colors and get a uniform hue. But I work with acrylic and gouaches so the drying time is shorter. It might be more difficult with oils…
