Sketch, draw, color, paint...not with any agenda or judgment but just to enjoy and express our love for art and nature. That was really special and so inspiring. ❤
Diane, you are such an inspiration. I have learned so much from you. I journal. Journals tend to a have a way of becoming full of negative thoughts and feelings. So before it became popular I drew my day. 5-6 watercolor sketches for each day. This gave me a new perspective, not of negativity but of cheerful things I did that day. What I ate, what I saw, what I did. I learned a lot about myself going back through. I wasn’t just an accountant doing math all day in a tiny cubicle, I was a fun loving, people and bird watching person! No negativity at all. Even a cold depicted with crumbled tissues and tiny bottles of cough syrup were delightful. The sketchbook is on my coffee table and has gotten a lot of laughs from visitors.
I’ve never seen a hollyhock. It’s beautiful. It reminds me of my hibiscus. My hibiscus is blooming now. It has flowers bigger than my hand. It’s really beautiful.
That was really lovely. I have never seen you draw first then paint. I get impatient with my sewing at times… so I step away from the sewing machine and watch you paint. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your new nature sketchbook with us it is lovely. Sometimes using a variety of tools frees the mind. We are all unique so keep doing what makes you 🙂 The piano music selction at the end is beautiful. 🍂🍃🌾 Blessings
When I feel unsure I say to myself, go for it…it’s only paint and paper. Also we had Hollyhocks in our back garden when I was young and we would take an open bloom for a skirt and attach a slightly closed one so it looked like a lady in a beautiful dress and matching hat. They are s pretty!
@@patriciahorelick6450 Yes. I made them like this, too. They looked like medival princesses. Then after floating on water, the bud “head” opened. Like magic.
Always inspiring to watch what you do! You captured the essence of each flower and I like how you expanded the idea on the adjacent page! So well done ♥️
Grew up making hollyhock dolls that I floated in tubs of water. Am amazed by your quick ink sketches. Not used to sketching first but adding lines to define. ❤
I love to watch you draw with ink, It's amazing to me your talent. So fun to watch that I did forget my worries. I am subscribed and I am off to watch another one of your videos.
How beautiful....the drawings, the music And today is the first of Spring here in Australia so very appropriate 🌻 Thanks again for your inspiration... I'm reminded of something I just read which is applicable to you Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God's presence Proverbs 27:9 The Passion translation...
Hi Diane! I'm looking forward to sketchtember with different art supplies...sounds like excellent practice. For me, I'm intimidated by pens because once it's done you can't change it, so maybe I will get my confidence up and sketch better with one. Hollyhocks bring back a memory..at my favorite grandmother's house she had Hollyhocks, and I would pretend they were beautiful ladies with long flowing skirts. Thank you for a pleasant memory!😊❤🌹🌺
One hollyhock finally grew, out of the packet I had. It is growing beautifully, though hasn't bloomed yet; hollyhocks are fragile (something to love about them). Here in Northern California we used to have sunny septembers (before fire seasons started), & there is still hope for it. I will enjoy the sketching, because it is less demanding (for me anyhow). Thanks for the encouragement and for your demonstrations.
Just so pretty! I was at a friends home and admiring some prints of flowers, done in ink and some colored in. I thought they were so pretty and thought I should try something like that. And then you show me how! It is a gorgeous effect. As always thank you for all you do…my amazing friend.❤
Dear Diane, such a soothing video, I really enjoyed this one , so much in it . Really pretty little sketches. Great idea , I will be attempting this challenge as you always give me confidence with your laid back way of presenting art and of course you are always there to keep me company, 😊❤️ The Claire Fontaine sketchbooks look really fun.
I like that I was thinking about getting into my wat watercolor pencil and pin and ink drawings and this is perfect to do with you. Thank you. JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.
You are so talented and make the whole process look so effortless. I shall try and paint some, loved the roses. Love all the sound coming from your garden. Big hugs and good wishes from India. Enjoy your vacation
So inspiring. I have learned so much, & you make it look so easy. Drawing is not my strong suit, but your instructions certainly help. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
Will be fun to sketch and paint these favorites ❤thanks Diane I really appreciate your tutorials my sunflower has reached 7’6 » just growing in the head finally. It’s a monster lol.😂
The bers have cycled back around once more. Yay .so fun 😅🍄🐰🤍I like this Diane. I just ordered some new black and sepia archival pens ! 🖊 🎉 Happy September 🍁🍂🍃🍂🖐
😊 just ordered a new Sketch book. I only had 1 page left in my first sketch book. It's a Speedball brand and I loved it. So I just order the one that I know I like. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the Way the hard cover looks. So I just painted it😊 Much love from North Carolina Xo
Thanks for all the inspirations. Your drawings and paintings are awesome, if only I could be a tad as artistic as you are. By the way, what was that lovely music playing in the background? ❤
I just discovered and subscribed to your 2nd Garden channel. How wonderful! I feel like I’ve been given a personal tour of your enchanted, if at times difficult, French country life. Thank you for sharing.❤️
I don't comment often because I watch on my Smart TV, but I want you to know how much I love and appreciate your channel!! I've been watercoloring since I was a teenager, and your videos bring me much joy and inspiration! I love how calming they are. I must admit that I knit & crochet as I watch instead of paint 😂 My studio is in another room. Keep up the fabulous work. Thank you for being in my life!
Thanks so much, Deb for your lovely comments! I would do the same thing, knitting or crocheting while watching video is definitely the way to go! So glad to hear that the videos bring you so much pleasure! It certainly makes it all worthwhile for us! Happy painting and thank you so much for your support!
This is great! I really like the pieces where the main thing is the drawing, with just dabs and dashes of watercolour. I just got that same sketchbook, and shall take note that the paper doesn't stand up to much water.
