It's so hard to remember everything you cover about instagram/social media 😭 it is so easy to get swept up by all the numbers and you just have to remind yourself to make art for you 💖

I agree with the overconsumption of other people’s work! I find that whenever I’m more active on Instagram or mindlessly scrolling through Pinterest, my sketches and artwork just end up being symbol drawings of whatever artwork I’ve been consuming - and Instagram artists in general seem to fall into this chamber of just regurgitating each other’s motifs and stylistic choices (line work, colour palettes, subjects). The only thing that seems to help me break out of the cycle of over consuming people’s art and then getting blocked is having to force myself to create a LOT of shit art until all the monkey see monkey do artwork is out of me and I’m just creating what’s natural for me Sorry for the ramble, I hope my sleep deprived thoughts make any sense

yesssss very very relatable! i also think as artists with online presences you naturally pick up on motifs and ideas that tend to be popular at the time, stars, frogs, etc haha. glad you have a system for creating :)

I resonate so much to this whole video!! You put everything into such coherent words 🥲 I always have to remind myself to ignore the pressure to keep up with the momentum/algorithm - it’s an impossible task to stay on top of the numbers. Also the whole traditional vs. digital thing is WILDDDD, people claiming digital art is easier clearly have not tried it *remembers how many times I press undo just to create a smooth line* LOL

Watched this during my post-run yoga and it was so relaxing 🌸 pink/yellow is literally my fav colors so eyes were lighting up at this painting 😍 and keeping up with vlogging every week/editing being draining is SOO relatable, glad you are branching out and doing what you want!!

Thats so true whenever I tell someone I use procreate they'd usually just assume I can't use any other software since its "easy" even though I can use photoshop and other softwares 🤣 digital art is easier to cover up mistakes but traditional art have a sort of intimate(?) Feel to it. Like even the messy or wrong brushstrokes has its own beautyy. Love hearing your thoughts while u paint!

Comparison shopping for supplies and the business/financial end of running a shop are areas people usually don't realize they have questions about and isn't really being covered by many artists. Even just 5 minutes talking about how you organize to prep for filling can help a lot. I'm a polyclay hobbyist but I just graduated with my bachelor's in public accounting. I get both sides of the spectrum with no answers for anyone 😂 can help people figure out where they need to get though
