it's true you have to learn with simple shapes first so that you don't feel pressured! when I have a drawing classes we learn the basic from traditional drawing with simple shape to 3d and or realistic digital drawing! :] thank u for posting this! that looks good! where is this video when I needed some paint w me-

I heard you talking about giving your painting more detail because you are not good with your brushes. I would recommend two things. You can pick up a No. 2 Brush to help you with this I suggest a round or a flat brush. If you stick with using the flat brushes only, turn your brush on the side to do the thin lines of painting. Do not overlook using a soft mop brush (some use a soft makeup brush) to blend in the first layers of paint and do not use much pressure if you blend. Remember brush strokes on those final layers are really key to giving the paintings a painterly look. My second suggestion is to spend some time to practice your brush strokes. Just as in drawing, we always need to practice using our artists tools! There are many wonderful tutorials and a few good books to find that will have exercises for the painter. As you learn new techniques for texture and even color mixing and application of colors you will see your art pop!
