I am on a trip right now up and down the East Coast gathering some incredible inspiration. I can’t wait to move forward and I will also have a course down the road that will be a lot more detailed, so stay tuned. Thank you so much for your comment.
I really liked the painting at several different stopping points. I am also glad to hear there is an advantage to not gesso a canvas or canvas board which I have always done about 3 coats. I really like the ultramarine blues in this painting
I am using more blue today in the studio. I seem to just love its pop!! I think developing your own style is so important, so the use of gesso can be one of those personally things!!
Hi Cheryl, Thanks for sharing your art process, I love seeing the paintings evolve and it's great that you explain why your doing things. I'm a total amateur and am learning so much from watching your video's, so thank you for your generosity. I live in the UK and in November I'm attending a small local christmas craft fair in aid of a charity for blind people. I'm hoping to sell some art in the form of gift cards, paintings, bespoke wrapping paper and anything else that fits in with the festive them. Have you ever done a series based around Christmas or winter? I'm looking for ideas so would be grateful for any input. Thankyou and regards. Chris
I am so happy you are learning things from me. Your charity sounds so interesting. As far as inspiration for your winter theme.... I truly am an abstract expressionist and do not do themes like winter, Christmas etc. I had to think about my answer to see if I could come up with some helpful answer, but I do series more by intuitive thoughts and inner feelings more than themes that for me might see more craft thought? Having said that.... perhaps decide on some common collage you might add.... perhaps glitter, or tissue paper that creates texture or handmade papers that are created to be the same.... I also do mainly large canvases and rarely little cards (I do them) for not a lot. I am thinking you might do same marks that are unique to you like a styled tree of some sort you put in all the pieces? If I come up with somethings while it is on my mind, I will round back to you!!!! Thank you for watching !!!
@@CherylWilsonArt Thankyou Cheryl, I appreciate you sparing the time to reply to me. You have definitely given me some ideas that I can develop especially with regard to texture and an individual mark. Keep posting your awesome videos. Chris
