Hi Carol. I’ve got an identical container. Hope turns out as well as yours. I don’t have the variety of paints here in Ireland. But I’ll give it a go. Grind it. Prime it and paint it. Good video. All the best. John.
You should have used rustoleum oil based enamel and used an airless sprayer. You should have also hit the rusty spots with an angle grinder and knotted wire wheel, then sanded the entire container down to 320 grit starting with 80 grit, primer then paint. I just painted a container last summer for $650 + paint
I only applied primer to the places that were rusty then did the direct to metal paint over the whole thing. Figured the additional protection of the primer would not hurt....
@@yourgo2gal4realestatehawaii Hi, I still don't get why people are putting DTM paint over another paint/primer. The very name describes the surface it's supposed to go on,,,,,metal, bare metal, Direct to "Metal" paint. Just curious is all.
