It might shock some viewer, but I like your art in general and I don't mind you using brushes, even better, I like that you diversify your art and in my opinion, that's how one artist grows even further! So keep em coming the way you will, its all good! :D Cheers, and awesome painting!
It's really cool that you have reflected on your journey, both the one travelled and the one to come. People do not mind when there are gaps and periods of no videos or painting, because when you do it is engaging and very creative. Over 600 videos in eight years is incredible. Love the octobarista mural!
Hey Doke, big fan of your artworks for some time now. I do miss the use of cans though. And I wish I could see more of your Procreate process on the iPad. ❣ Love the artwork in the "KOFI" shop. And if you ever wondered... The octopus's arms are called tentacles.Showing you support all the way back here in Shanghai.
I knew as soon as I seen you use regular masking tape the wall was doomed after 5 days. Next time use an interior purposely designed painting tape. 2 week clean removal on most brands. Also being a painter by trade it was driving me watching you use a weenie roller to paint an entire wall with 4 coats 😂. Love your videos man, your artwork is always done with passion, and the channel grows because it shows!
I agree. As a painter I was crying watching the time spent on all the coats with the tiny roller 😢😂 and the tape well we al learn that one way or another
Been missing your videos. Love that you share your journey with us...wherever it leads. Please don't be hard on yourself. No one expects you to be perfect. Wishing you well! Loved the painting! I would like to see another video of your design process for this. I'd love to hear how you created that composition versus the other ones. Hope to see more of you soon.
Doke, I honestly find your channel and yourself an inspiration. I have been an avid fan of your work and the diversity that you bring. It's awesome that you keep challenging yourself. Be proud of your work as it is amazing!
A mimic octopus is my spirit animal so to see you back after the time away to an octobarista was amazing.. sorry you had projects not work out but glad to see your bouncing back. excited to see what's next doke
A trick when applying tape to walls that I learnt when painting houses with existing walls that weren't being painted, is before putting it on the existing wall, stick the tape to your jeans first then on the wall, it makes it easier to remove from the wall and will minimise or keep the walls from getting damaged completely.
Welcome back n glad u r still making yt videos!!! Cre8ive piece n i like it!! Keep the cre8ivity and videos coming!! Til next tyme...keep those cre8ive juices abrewing!!!
Love it Doke. Octopus is my favorite animal. I kept one for about a year they are amazing creatures. I actually have a long standing painting of one that I need to finish
Hey. Very nice work. Seems your life is taking a new direction and that's good...evolution is part of life. And recognition of your art is also a great step. Next!
Fun fact: the suction cups on an octopuses tentacles operate more like hands in the sense where they can mobilize a single suction cup to grab onto its pray if they wanted to... also each suction cup has its own taste buds, so with a single suction, they can taste whether or not they're holding onto food or not...
It doesn't matter what you use brush, can ,fire extinguisher it's all good and i will continue to watch and like what ever you do keep it up 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 # Nebraska,USA
Doke on dry wall mist coat first, 60 water 40 paint. 2 coats drys quick and then your colour. Stops the paint falling off the wall. As dry wall is absorbent, looks great mind you. Keeps up the great videos
I love the artwork that you are producing and really miss the mass uploads that you were doing, but its understandable that your talent is evolving. I started watching because your "can" work was amazing and you showed the world your triumphs and failures. it was like you were bringing us along with you on the journey.... I REALLY miss that. when you attempted new things or styles we got you see how your brain worked and how you figured out the problems and issues. i love the way you have evolved, but i miss the feeling of you taking your followers with you on the journey. it feels like you are showing us what you are doing and not letting us walk with you. Either way, i support what you are doing and love that you are adding beauty to this world one blank canvas at a time. Thank you Doke.
Doke it looks awesome. About the tape and the green wall that had the peeling issue. Your tapes have different "release" times. That tan colored or white colored masking tape that you used in this video is only good for 1-2 days usually max. Meaning when you peel the tape it will not peel in a good way, either leaving residue or in this case sticking too much. The blue tape is expensive but for something like this interior where you need to tape up walls, cabinets, etc, and don't want to damage the surface but you plan to tape up multiple days. Use the blue tape for projects up to almost 3-4 weeks. They also make purple tape which is super delicate. Hope this helps brother!
Awesome work Doke. Love the details in the design. You did great, so great that his eyes give me the spooks like he's watching me man. 🤣🤣🤣 ✌❤ from New Zealand xo
Doke. Don’t beat yourself up on time. Taking sketches to final is a lot different than that sketch. No pressure and all the colors RE right there on your iPad. I am working on my very first graffiti style flower mural with bees, flowers, ants, ants, etc. needless to say. Wow. Did I go big. It’s 38” tall by 74.5” long. Wow. It’s large. But. I used your teaching of the simple way to transfer the piece from paper to the wood canvas. Worked out well. Still working on it. It’s been over 100 hours so far, and every time I stare at it, I see so much more to do. And that’s before highlights and finishing touches. Pencil, colored pencil, paint, paint markers and artist markers. Which I thought blending on wood would be an issue but it’s worked out very nice. And the beauty of the wood is that I can sand it and redraw if my lines and angles are off which hey it’s my first anything other than a sketch. Thanks again for your channel. It’s motivating to watch. Enough of me. Lol Great job Doke!
"too dark" Yeah, you don't need pure black for shadows, keep it for places where contrast really matters same for whites. "5 days are so long" Some famous paintings like Vasnecov Богатыри took even 20 years so idk, not that long i think. :) Great job!
I knew he had skill in him from the start, he wanted to quit many times but we managed to cheer him on. Now look at the amazing things he can do although I miss the old street style "doke" it's still dope🤘🔥
Hey great video man. You style is getting more and more better. I don’t think I would do so well with paint brushes either. The spray can feels so much faster. I to think is would get the timescale wrong. But with more practice you’ll start to understand the timescale better. YIC
You need to get an airbrush and a quiet air compressor for these inside commissions. Though you will have a hose to dill with, you would get the spray pain fill and will probably help save on materials and time.
love your work.... you should do videos of painting in the US or another country thats not your own? like the graffitti walls in miami Wynwood are full of great art..... Especially for Art Basel
Hi doke it’s me tiffany your biggest supporter i like your octopus drawings it’s pretty cool like the detail design i enjoy watching your art content i love all your artworks they are lovely your drawings are beautiful you always do a great job on your art good job doke i am so proud of you i will always support you i love you doke

Awesome. About the long time, I feel like you might be better off working at night, at with graffiti paint + acrylic marker for outlines, a wall like this would have taken 1 day, 2 days max (I am also a graffiti artist). If ventilation is a big issue you can always get a really strong vent that also has a long tube attached to it, that will keep sucking up the air around you while you spray ❤❤❤
Je super sledovať ako sa posúvaš vo svojej tvorbe od grafikov na ulici až po sprášlovanie priestorov ako toto … len tak ďalej ako si kráľ bez debaty 💪😎 klobúk dole 🔝
Do you listen to music while you work? If it's yes, what music you enjoy. Or you just listen to your thoughts. Of course I am also talking about places that are outside. Big support from Italy
Good for you Doke! Spending more time painting and less time youtubing... I Imagine it must be a pain some time recording everything. I like your latest work but also miss a bit the old Graffiti stuff. But maybe your channel will find new subscribers from a wider audience because of this. Just keep doing what you enjoy doing. I dont feel that 5 days is that much. You are probably thinking still in can timings... The process with brushes seems way more slow . On the other hand i find a week of work a bit long for concepting this and i hope they pay you enough to justify that much concept work. Although you maybe didnt work full days in the concept. What i love about your videos is that you always show your struggle as well. When i watch Smoe for example I know its going to be perfect, but i find the process less interesting and I can relate more to someone who is still learning. Thats what your channel was about for a very long time. Trying Out new things, overcoming obstacles ( most of the time at least :D ). I feel you risk a bit less these days in your work but its very understandable with comission work. I will follow your journey definetely in any case. I am eager to hear what your goals for the near and distance future are going to be.
Sick piece doke! You kind of answered most my questions as the vid went on... you said you been making yt videos for 8 years... how long have you been doing graff?
Absolute respect bro! Love watching ur videos.. my best friend was a writer.. he wrote "ech" sometimes "etch" depending on how much paint he had.. haha. We lost him early last year but he recommended you, smoe, kiptoe, tee 2 sugars and theron as ones to watch, been a sub ever since... power to ya brother... keep up the great work....
Have you ever considered tattooing as a career path? My tattoo artist used to do airbrush painting on truck cabs before starting tattoos. Noice octobarista by the way 👌
