I always come check this channel every couple of months hoping this dude will come back. I hope he's doing well, he was one of my favorite content creators
Hey buddy, I hope everything is okay. I Love what you teach. love the tone, and love your channel. Hope to see something new so we (your community) see you're doing well.
Man, I hope he's OK... I have no experience doing anything like the stuff he does to die-cast cars (I used to be more into custom LEGO building and modding old Gameboy consoles), I just stumbled across the channel since my dad has always liked collecting small die-casts for him and I (maybe it's our collective nostalgia fueling it?)... For context, my dad also likes building scale tanks, military trucks and airplanes, so I suppose this isn't too far off as a hobby. I don't know many channels focusing on die-cast cars/trucks, but from the ones I know this has to be the best one... I hope he's alright... Hope you're also OK, Joseph (don't know you, but nice to meet you). Do you also do this as a hobby, or are you just enjoying watching this, like I am?
Right?! Hope he’s doing okay. He’s a quality content creator with a wealth of knowledge on this hobby. Hope the videos haven’t taken away from his own enjoyment in this hobby or causing stress on his family or anything.
I suggest you check out Simply Nailogical, she is an expert in holo paints and powders and top coats that may cross over to this. Also Diecast Resurrection is a great painter and has done a lot of paints involving flake etc.
She also, if I remember correctly, hung around and worked a little in a body shop as a teen, so there's a little crossover. She tested out a "nail polish remover" that I'm pretty sure was the same paint stripper you use, and she made that connection!
I was LITERALLY going to post this. Her linear holo is perfect for this, it has a tight rainbow effect and would show very clearly on this sort of project.
Seriously... I hope this guy is ok. I've been checking back and forth for a while now seeing if there were any new videos and I keep seeing the same result, It's oddly quiet.
i have an update on why he left im friends with the guy who sent him the 18 redlines he was suppose to restore most of them and send back 15 of them he could keep 3 but he kept ignoring the guy and refused to sent the mustangs back or give an update so he left youtube to avoid his name being hurt
@@poble Yeah, it's BS. The channel owner has an extensive collection of vintage hot wheels and matchbox cars. He literally doesn't need to keep subscribers cars.
Hey buddy, I hope things are well with you. Would really love to hear just an update to know that you're ok. I do miss the videos; you're the best out there but more importantly would like to know that you're ok.

I know many have said it but I hope you’re doing well. These videos always make me smile and appreciate the cars I do have while also inspiring me to be more creative with my own projects. Even if nothing is wrong and you’re just taking a break from RU-vid, I just wanted to comment this to let my favorite creator know how I feel.

Wild, I keep checking back and looking at the comments to see if anyone has heard anything about him. I mean just to know he’s alive and well is good enough for most of us.
@@djamac360he’s alive, he posted a comment about 5 months ago (as of august 2023) answering a question from someone on an older video of his. I have a feeling he just took a break from RU-vid due to burnout or personal matters and doesn’t have much of a drive or passion to come back. Covid had an impact as to why his channel skyrocketed in views between 2020-2021, so considering that it’s not so much of a threat as it once was, he’s not getting the same kind of numbers, and that sometimes can have people leave the platform and never look back
@@bluu_ash2394 no clue, it was some random restoration video from 2 years ago. He was replying to a guy who asked a question that was recent about restoring hotwheels, the comment got no other recognition other than him
Hope you’re doing well man, I just find your videos to be relaxing to watch, and I’m feeling inspired to customize my own Hotwheels set, and even give it a shot in restoring a Redline, if I could find one online. 😅 Just began rewatching some of the videos you posted, and I’m more than glad I did.
As so often since this post, I am rewatching which is always a great pleasure! I hope you are well; and if not, I send you my best wishes! I am watching your videos regularly!
Been a fan of you for some years, and I desire for you my best wishes and hope you're okay buddy. Your art is awesome and we all see the passion and love you put in every piece, once again, I hope you're fine and doing your best, hopefully we will see you soon.
I hope you and your family are doing well this holiday season. I know you haven't been around for awhile, and I don't know when you might be, but thank you for all of the content and knowledge you've left for us.
Either something happened or he just got burned out. NO WAY a channel with over 300k+ subs just goes away. That’s money left on the table 100%. Hope he’s ok.
If you come back, I suggest making Spectraflame customs of M2 Machines (specifically the ones with opening doors and hoods), as they can give a lot more detail, and it seems interesting.
Fyi, Rusto also makes a "Iridescent" colorshift in that same paint line, except it's more of a larger rainbow flake as opposed to the smaller flake 2color shift options they offer 🤙🤘
I just customized my very first diecast car. All based on what I remembered from your videos, without any direct reference. My reward for completing the project was to see what you're up to today... Then I realized why I hadn't watched any baremetalhw vids in a while. I hope all is well. My project turned out better than I could have hoped, and it's all thanks to the knowledge you shared. Thank you.
I got the opportunity to meet baremetalhw (won't say his name) at a toy show many years ago when I was maybe 12 or 13 (I'm 19 now). I was into customs and had watched EVERY one of his RU-vid videos, when he'd mentioned he'd purchased a redline from a local toy show, I went out on a limb and dm'ed him to see what show. Just so happened to be the one in my town and turned out he was local. Seemed like a dream, we ended up meeting together at the next show and hung out all day. He brought a box full of cars that were featured on his channel, at that age it felt like a dream! At the end of the show he gifted me a mad max build that he'd done in one of his videos, absolutely made my day and I still have the car to this day in a box somewhere. Not sure if you'll see this but sir you truly were an inspiration to me, I hope all is well. 🤘🏻
I really enjoyed these videos, with the dry and whitty sense of humor thrown in. They got me back into collecting and now into restoring as well, and for that I’m grateful. As for the current hiatus, I get it. The popularity just exploded and in lots of the comments there are people asking for something. All that, plus the demands of most likely a day job, would for sure take the joy out of it. I may be completely off base, but will always check back for maybe something new. If not, that’s ok too.
Hey man, I started watching your videos when you first got shared on Reddit and blew up a little bit. Always have loved them. Fast forward like 6 years, today my daughter and I assembled a Hot wheel track for The first time. Like we put together a proper one with the powered launcher and stuff. She just turned two and she absolutely loved it. Now and ask me to open the cars and I have to try to get her to understand that Hot Wheels usually don't open. Anyway, when we were playing with Hot Wheels I figured I'd put your video on and she really enjoyed watching you fix up this Tesla. She has an almost identical remote control, Hot Wheels brand actual Hot Wheels scale car of that Tesla in red that she likes to play with, so she started saying red car paint, red car paint, black car and things like that, she really enjoyed it. Anyway, I know the life of a content creator is often a lot more stress and nerves than it needs to be and I thought a nice little anecdote might be nice.
@@SouthAdorian I’m not sure, it’s been 7 months, I really miss this channel, it’s just about the only channel on RU-vid I Re-Watch, I feel like the quitting may have something to do with the hate on this video (I liked the video)
ive been trying to find the reason, even sent a message to the instagram-account he owns. no awnsers :( but concidering his family knew about this channel and his hobby making videos, it is weird that nobody has made a statement or update on him.
@baremetalHW WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU BARE, GIVE US AN UPDATE OR A SIGN YOU’RE DOING FINE SOMETIME- Your very sad and concerned audience If anyone has any legitimate info without providing any of his really personal info, please let us know if he’s alive or not
I hope you're doing well. Really miss watching your stuff. Just so you know i wouldn't have even started collecting hotwheels again without you or your channel.
Awesome to see a new upload ^^ Especially with such a unique paint job. Did you ever thought about making a tutorial how to motorized a matchbox, hot wheels, siku or any other kind of car in that scale? A motorized rear axle could be pretty cool in my opinion o.O
I just remembered this channel recently. Went on a big content binge with this channel before he disappeared. I thought RU-vid just stopped recommending any new videos to me even though I was subscribed. Hope he is doing well.
@@B_Skizzle I have a Model Y and you're right that Tesla isn't awesome at the basic stuff like panel gaps and the stuff that a company like Ford/Chevy gets right on a car half the price, but the awesome software and ridiculous speed is a worthwhile trade-off, at least in my opinion.
@@vincepale To be fair it wasn't until the 2000's that Ford and GM finally got around to narrowing panel gaps. I had a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria that had panel gaps large enough that you could put your finger through.
Great video! Please consider creating a Mad Max alteration of the new Hot Wheels diecast Cybertruck! I think it would be a perfect base to have some fun with.
The Tesla you'd repainted almost reminds me of those New Car Models in disguise that I've seen in the Car Magzines where the automakers used it to hide their latest models before they could show it to the public.
Nice job on the customization Zack. It clearly took considerable work and research. To photograph the final effect, maybe you could take your turntable out into the sun and film it. Cool hologram BTW. You should post a video about making one.
Glad to see you back again! I've missed your videos. I know it wasn't the best outcome, but it's nice to see that sometimes things just don't work out.
