Maria, this is beautiful. It makes me feel as though I could step into the painting and feel the coolness of the woods. I like this. It's different. The foggy part is the focal point rather than the clear crisp parts. It's really nice to look at.

Hello Maria. I love these types of paintings. How do you stop your paper from buckling? When I use that amount of water on my paper it starts to lift even when I have taped it down. Thank you.😘

hi Susan, thank you so much 😍I have a glass top table so my paper (arches) is laying flat and I use washi tape along the edges but on a paper, the only washi tape that's touching the table is by the corners.. so my paper can breathe. I recommend any glass top, it helps a lot to avoid buckling. This is also a matter of what watercolor paper you are painting on, are you using Arches too?

@@mariamorjane Hey Maria. That is where I am going wrong.......I tape my paper all the way around down to the glass and not letting it breathe. I will try that from now on. Yes I use Arches, and always have done.......simply the best! Thank you so much for your reply, i really appreciate it. 😘

Hi! When you say round 1,2,3 etc are you letting it dry between rounds? I’m a little confused. I’m attempting this but it seems like maybe a lot of what you did in the first 5 min was all wet?

Hi Natalie, I am sorry about the confusion but when I refer to round 2, round 4, flat 3/4, that's about brushes I'm using. Round 2 brush, round 4 brush. etc🙋🏻‍♀️

Can I ask, the whole frost part where you do the under painting of the faded background, before you add the wet on dry trees, is that all one session of just wet on wet?

Thank you☺️👩🏻‍🌾🌹I recommend Holbein because they are the easiest to control. The company doesn't add OXGall to their paints which means they are easier to control, spreading is more manageable ☺️☀️You can see that in my videos for the most part, I have been using this brand since 2017.But don't forget the paper!! Watercolor paper is the foundation of your watercolor painting, using cheap quality student grade slows down the process of learning, just fyi😃

I'm really looking forward to attempting this lovely tutorial, but have a question.... Do you paint very fast to keep your paper moist or have you re-wet it after it's dried. This would be my problem. Please help! Warm regards and thank you for your wonderful work and inspiration!

Hi Barbara, thank you for your comment and yes☺️for the most part I paint pretty fast to keep my paper moist, but I also work around the painting so as I am painting and continue adding paint I keep the paper wet longer. I keep my eyes all over the paper.
