Could you please direct me to the link or video where you say your source for your plugs for the various size openings on the machines when you mask them off. I was using corks, but they can crumble. Thanks.
Thank you for posting your progress. Is there an aerosol clear coat you would recommend? I'm finally getting my Singer 27 painted and I'm worried about using the right clear coat.
The mica pearl shimmer is very pretty!!! I know your grief of perfectionism (I'm exactly the SAME), but to my eye (through the camera), I couldn't see the wrinkle. It may be a little more obvious in person, but I'm sure it'll be fine (plus it's on the back). Besides, at her age, she has every right to have a few 'wrinkles', like the rest of us do!!! Great job!
Marie, I love your design choices. The color, the double color, the glitter and the decals. Thoughts on the specs. Could they have been in the gun when you began? Maybe there were some in the glitter package. No matter, as you said, each machine brings it's own issues. I sometimes get those sputtering drops from a spray can as well. Most frustrating. But considering that she was a mess when you got her and now she is a gorgeous machine that will make someone very happy, those little things are relative. I am wondering what you will do with her base. Hmmm. I love your work. P.S. were you able to use clear waterslide paper for this one? You did it again. I just finished one I will be sharing, I hope, later today. Keep 'em coming. You inspire.
Nope, the specs were not in the gun because I had painted the other pieces before I did the machine, and they were fine. The only thing I can think is that the gun puts out a lot more air than a regular spray can. And it might be possible that that extra gust of air might have dislaunched some dust from somewhere in the machine that I missed. Oh, well. Such is life 😅 And yes, clear waterside paper.
