Painting an RC Drift Body for the RD 2.0!

You guys voted and the S15 RC Drift car body from Pandora RC won by a fair margin! This was a cool concept for a body choice since my first RWD rc drift car had an S15 body shell on my Yokomo Yd2s (Check out the old videos!) Even though painting didn’t go as well as it could have, I think I was able to save it with some custom stickers on the outside. Definitely be sure to let me know what you think in the comments and let me know if you think it is worth of being the RD 2.0 body! The RC drift car has been so much fun to drive on track and I’m excited to dig a little deeper into the rc drift car and begin to tune and upgrade it in the upcoming episodes.

Nice work and am sure if airbrush painting would have done a better job than rattle can paint. Airbrush gives a better control of each layer. That’s my opinion though and everyone has there ways on how to get the job done. Well stay sliding my friend. Am someone who’s new to rc drifting n not new to rc cars. I have been on and off doing a little of everything lol 😂

This was airbrush, I guess I didn’t really clarify in the video. I mix a bunch of different stuff together to get the shades and flake that I want. Paints jelled on me, probably because they are old and have been mixed with various thinners, it was my mistake and was definitely not proper setup for a high quality job, but it’s a drift car and it gets thrashed so it’s not a big deal. What paint did you use?

I use a bunch of different water based model paint and mica powders, mission models, velleo, and some others. Definitely not a proper setup but using what I have on hand for this budget build.
