That shiner color before you re-painted it we call a "fegis" in Swedish, which translate to "the coward" because it always catches pike :) Would love seeing your take on a big musky pullbait!
Love your videos. I'm making some of my own baits. I hand carve them. Mostly oversized musky trolling lures. I don't ever want to steal the joy and start selling them. Just making a few for myself and friends. I had two questions for you on painting. I was hoping you could help me out. #1 - What PSI do you usually run your sprayer at? #2 What ratio of reducer to paint do you use? Like 50//50 or ? Your baits are awesome. Thanks!
I usually run my psi around 35. I rarely adjust it. Reducing paint differs. You want the consistency to be like whole milk. So depending on what paint you're using you could have to use a different amount of reducer to water it down. Golden Hi-flo is my favorite paint and it doesn't need to be reduced much at all. Createx is very thick in comparison so that might be close to 50/50.
New subscriber here! Just a heads up from one custom bait painter to another! Put on a coat of Alumilite UV resin over that Folk Art black gold, then spray on the the Createx pearl coper after the resin cures, or since you use epoxy maybe use a fast curing epoxy. It will lay a much smoother scale detail finish over the thick blotchy finish, showing way more scale details. Just a suggestion my friend 👊👍 Keep up the awesome videos!!!
