In todays video we took a cool Slam Shifters Firebird Casting from 1982 and gave it a Smokey and the Bandit Makeover. Hope you enjoy, I discovered a new way to do tiny colored pinstriping in this video as well :)

I think you reached a whole new level with the vinyl strips. I kind of liked the accidental gold flakes. I think you can actually see it better when it was at the booth, the white covering the mirror may have reflected to much light to where the image still looked dark on the stand. Looks Slamming!

_Slam Shifters_ were totally awesome, and second only to _Burnin’ Key Cars_ (and **possibly** the legendary _Darda Demons)_ for flat-out speed down a linoleum hallway 😎

Trans Am! One of my favorite cars. Came out beautiful and the gold flakes was an incredible mistake.

Artists don't have mistakes - they create unanticipated beauty. I remember vaguely the few guys that drove these Birds in college but remember clearly the girls that rode with them. They usually had very ornate bumpers. Smokin! miep miep

100% awesome! When you mentioned how hard it is to paint thin stripes using only tape, it reminded me of the time I built the Blue Thunder helicopter. The instructions called for the thin red lines separating the panes of glass on the cockpit to be done with DECALS. I wasn't comfortable with that, so I taped and painted. It took DAYS, but the end result was worth it.

Spray gunner. Get yourself an air brush just for clear coat. That’s what I have and no more worries about having metal flakes in the cup before clear 💪🏼 Love the glossy finish🔥

I was gifted an airbrush and compressor for my birthday, and guess where I immediately came to relive some older videos. I've not used it yet. Making a list of the rest of the items I need to pick up especially a mobile or DIY paint booth. Figured I would practice a lot before trying out red line shop Spectraflame paints.

Remember coverting one of these firebirds IRL many moons ago With that exact paint job that a neighbour had (They were very rare in the UK), but reality was never as nice as that paint job you did... awesome dude.

I actually like the sparkles in the black paint. It was a nice, happy little accident "Serendipity" 😉. Maybe try adding just a couple of drops of the gold to some black paint on another project just to see how it looks... Maybe try adding a few drops to a royal blue paint and see what it looks like... Just an idea 😉 The slammer turned out great !

Awesome, always makes me happy when you post a new video! I like that you work on weird and obscure castings rather than the usual Hot Wheels, have you seen a Corgi Hot Rod VW? Like a British version of a Hot Wheels Evil Weevil, think you need one. Lastly - with those heavily tinted windows I wonder if a small cell and an LED hidden inside the car would give an interesting effect?

Looks great. If you do another Firebird what I was thinking as I was watching the paint stripper part was you should do a base of metallic gold them mask out the stripes and the bird and hit the rest with candy black.

Looks good. Painting vinyl strips will allow for better color matching. I would have liked to see gold rims. The silver detracted from the overall unity of the paint scheme. You might have better luck showing the finished projects with a light box. Amazon sells several versions in many sizes.

Matchbox came up with key cars at same time I guess. You had a key with a spring and a pistol trigger to shoot the car through the Living room. When my friends came I had a Darda car, one had such a slam shooter and one a key car, my Grandma danced through the room because these little cars were racing on the Floor in all directions.
