Jerry, concrete heats up as it cures. Keeping it hot can actually weaken it considerably. It's why they ran cold water through the hoover dam as they were constructing it to cure it faster and make sure it had the strength it needed. Many people believe that some of the concrete in the dam is still curing to this day.

Hey Jerry the only problem with using the cement based stuff is it doesnt flex. That crack WILL move and open up again. You had rhe right idea using something flexible but as you foind out silicone was not the choice. Personally i would of used a product called sikaflex. We get it here in Aus not sure if you have it but it is flexible with excellent adhesion but best of all it can be painted over unlike regialr silicone. Source: Im a builder

I did this to my garage a few years ago. I remember being in the same position as you with cracks. I think I used regular caulk when filling the cracks. I wish I had known about that liquid cement. It probably would have been quicker. Mine turned out well, but dang is sealing a garage floor a pain in the ass. So much prep work and waiting for things to dry.

Jerry, the best way to use the hydraulic cement is to make it almost the consistancy of a thin milkshake and pour into the crack and let it settle down into it. Just saying, I've done a lot of that type work.

Just a thought, If you're going to put a CNC in there you're gonna make some dust, I'd be looking at making a cabinet to put the CNC in to contain the mess, there's some good shop vac's you could hookup to help. On the floor I'd be looking at some big floor rugs that you can potentially roll up and take out if you're doing wet or super messy work. just suggestions, you probably thought of this already ;)
