This is the best example of painting this difficult camouflage pattern, I am a total novice, and have little skill in painting these 1/35 models

A watercolor pencil might be a good idea for the stripes. Kind of want to try that now. Great video.

To help, you can outline pants and make a clipping channel. Past Camo then cut it. After adjust layer style. It will overlay and look correct. Helps with shadows and such.. but this isn’t a Photoshop channel lol. Looks great

Awesome video with clever method of using software to replicate the scheme better on the figure, brilliant!. And as it's permitted in the last section of this video, here is my question. In my hobby store this fallschirmjäger set is not available but all the paints are available separately. Also panzer colors series Splittermuster camouflage paints are available too. Should I go for these normal vallejo ones or panzer colors? Which one is more accurate and why specific paints (70.345 to 70.348) are not in the Fallschirmjäger paint set instead of normal series? I'm going to be painting 1/35 HobbyFan FlaK 36 figures, which are from 1. Fallschirmjäger Pz. Div. in eastern front, 1941 wearing partly splittermuster camuflage (only torso but not full jacket they have short sleeve) Are the panzer color series present shades of late war splitter camo, is it the reason?

@jaumeortiz4767 3 года назад
Hi!. Choosing colors to depict a certain camouflage garment is always a matter of taste. Colors included in the fallschirmjäger color set are my own preference, that doesn't mean the already existent panzer colors tones are wrong or less accurate, just means I preferred other hues that matched better the example I tried to replicate.

…….and to think I’ve been painting the actual repetition splinter pattern the hard way lol. Fortunately, I’ve got several original, Splinter pattern zeltbahns that I constantly refer to for color samples, scaling and fold simulations. I suppose if I knew how to use photo editing software proficiently, I’d probably do what you’re doing in this video 😀
@jaumeortiz4767
@jaumeortiz4767 3 года назад
Hi kurtwk!. Yes, It's a useful method to scale the pattern to the figure size, at least for me,(some people thinks it's a dumb idea). Obviously that's only a basic guide to figure out where to put every blotch and which size it has to be...Anyway I use a complete pattern sample to fill the hidden zones. Thanks for watching!
@kurtwk
@kurtwk 3 года назад
@@jaumeortiz4767 it most definitely is NOT a dumb idea , sir. I just ran across your vid by chance, makes me want to continue working on my figure….I model in spurts, usually several months on and several months off. I currently have a 1/35 scale figure that’s 75% done. A zeltbahn wearing grenadier that I painted the actual repetition Splinter A pattern …and I’m quite pleased with it. I still have to paint the rain streaks though, I’d love to get your opinion on it some time.
@martinoconnor4314
@martinoconnor4314 Год назад
Fantastic job but how do you even see to paint the rain streaks? Do you use magnifiers? I wouldn't be able to see them on a finished 1/35 scale figure let alone paint them.
@vallejocolors

Hello Martin, it all depends on the detailing level you want for your miniature. With patience and practice, you can make it happen :)

Hi Gregor, you only have to adapt the scale of the pattern into your model until the look is similar to Jaume's result and a reference picture :)
