Yea that paint requires a metallic undercoat. But even so i had a similar experience. It came out even, but using the metallic undercoat recommended produced a very dull color that was like a lilac/baby blue. When originally it was supposed to look like the cap on your car. Same exact paint i think. I ended up having to mist the left over metallic undercoat on top to bring around some shine.
I've worked with that paint you had to spray silver underneath. The reason it shows dark and light spots is because the paint is translucent so it's showing the white paint underneath. If you see the way the white paint was spraying like a thin spot and the other cars spray wider that helps even up the coat. But nice corvette bro very clean job.
The First one is Metal cast brother! it is amazing paint, over chrome or gold. try it some time. and it has to be aplied in light coats or it will run.
Good morning, Nice job, good tip to wet sand. I will be doing the engine cover on my Jaguar F-Type this weekend. Question, it’s been about seven months now after posting the video. How is the job holding up after the seven months? Did you put any clear coat on after you did the color? Do you suggest did clear? Lastly, the paint you used, was that high heat paint? So many people do it differently, but I like your style. Only thing missing in the video was a couple of cold ones ..... thanks
Still holding up , paint looks as good as when I applied it , nope no high heat I’m sure those plastic cover don’t actually get that hot , and yeah I applied clear coat the next day because it was looking dull and it bugged me / I highly recommend that dupli color paint match for this job , and the cold ones were behind the scene 😂/ thanks for the feedback I appreciate that ! 🙏🏼
Hows the paint holding i painted my valvecovers in my denali but was looking at using the leftover paint on my KN cold air intake. Hows it holding onto the plastic?
Yup pretty obvious you are not a pro at painting reason being problem you had was 1.speay can to close its auto parts not wall graffiti art. Number 2. You sprayed back and forth to fast first time you need to hold cam about 12 to 16 inches away from area you want to paint and do side to side steady passes evenly not like your trying to do graffiti
