We are back with more progress on the civic! Today we fix some of our painting mistakes from last time, and lay down some more paint Need For Speed Most Wanted style. It turned out great, but there is more work to be done...

Wasn’t sure about it, but the end of the video sold them for me. Plus the way that it incorporates itself into the ducktail spoiler looks sick.
Hey buddy nice project👍, I just want to give you some professional advise for when things go wrong in the booth…. Anytime you get a run or sag, what you should do next is give the clear about 2-3 minutes to slightly tack BUT not fully tacked, and then you take 2” tape and just lay that tape right ontop of the run/sags and pull the tape off and it will take the excess clear with it. In your case, if the runs are MOVING FAST, just act on the 2” tape right away so that the drips don’t travel too far. If you need to repeat the tape, do it again right away with a fresh strip and what you will be left with is a dry patch. Obviously you’ll let that tack off and then you’ll want to spray clear on that spot a couple times to build it back up while blowing air in between shots. 2 coats will suffice… then you can go back and perform a normal overall coat on the whole car. Just don’t push too hard on ur tape so that it does not sink too deep and leave any tape line impressions. Don’t be afraid of this live repair… it will be WAYYYY easier and less noticeable to block and buff that out than it will be to target tall and long drips without touching the rest of the surface. 2017 National award winning ase painter so this advice is top tier. True! Better temperature control would help a ton as well, on these colder days when I have to vent the fumes out of my garage a bunch of cold air makes it way in, and really slows down how the paint sets up, I believe this is causing the most runs
I saw a different video. And saw your bumpers on the ground... and your painters tape and wrap on the car but not creating a booth in the garage to keep the over spray and dust from collecting. Get yourself some bumper stands from harbor freight with all the dust that collects on the ground you'll be spending hours wet sanding your runs and mistakes. Or scrapping away with a razor blade😭... Which the bumper stands would've paid for themselves with all that work your now having to put in.... Coming from someone who paints in a booth with newer challengers and 2023 suburbans because some people can't park. I Also recommend a fan to get the air ventilation away from the car. And always always clean and wash the garage before painting. But nice job I haven't seen this civic in a while! I'm also about to be painting the same civic today for a customer lol.
Not a fan of the stripes or widebody sorry man, I just prefer the stock look. I'm glad you like them though. Wanted to say I do appreciate a bunch of your older videos on replacing the suspension etc. really helped me out on my suspension rebuild. Love the channel even though some of your artistic choices aren't my own :p.
