Hi Guys
In this video myself and Chris from Sailhub finish the topcoat of the boat, it was 5 layers in total and a horrible experience, but it looks nice.

I used same rollers with 2 part painted 20 ft section then went back to start and rolled additional light coat. Came out smooth

yes. its all dependant on the conditions, bur there are different application methods for many conditions but it does struggle with heat

2 part with a reducer is definitely the way to go, great job. The one part rubbish rubs off, guy in slip next door put beautiful topside paint job on last year, 1st couple boat wakes fenders rubbed off..

I put one part total boat on my deck and it gets moldy and dirty easily. Like the pores in the paint are bigger than the two part epoxy. I should of use two part garage epoxy paint off of Amazon. PPG was out but had the two part primer and perfection was a crazy price for a deck .

@@OceanCruisers I heard TSP paint prep is good before painting . I might hit it with two part primer again and then two part paint . It’s getting cool around here. Right now I’m varnishing the floors . Whatever they put on the floors is like epoxy to sand off. Today is sand day. It sucks

Would you try your hand at spraying if you did it again . Or where you satisfied with the results. I had a old boat that we’d tie up on the banks of the Ozarks. We’d jump off some cliffs . The nice boats couldn’t do it . Unless they wanted their boat scratched up from trees and bushes on the bank . You’d see them ponder the thought to stop and tie up all the time .

spraying yes, but you need a facility really and good equiptment. i just didnt have those options where the boat was based

im a painter 40 years you dont need to lay off (tip off) if you have right roller sleeve, paint is correct consistancy and you put the correct amount on. never paint in the sun.

Which foam rollers do you reccomend? Ive been told about using short pile mohair roller (for use on 2 part paints)

@@bover86 mohair good for two pack paints. get good quality. also foam that handles oil or two pack , but you need to pop any bubbles you may leave with a dry roller ( your roller once you have not much paint left in it) by rolling over any bubbles with no pressure on roller. only some paints leave bubbles. they can be blown out to. hard to explain as you can tell.

@@bover86 we found the hairs came out at the paint thickened. we just went with basic foam sausage rollers, replace after 30 minutes
