I've seen some really really nice bronze in painting tutorials by Mediocre Hobbies where he started out with a bright gold then gave it a dark brown wash followed by a not super heavy dry brush of a gunmetal silver. Not sure if you would want to do that for most of gold metal but it wouldn't look out of place on some of the pipes.
Really great tutorial for getting a Realm of Battle board done - not many of these about as it has been OOP for so long, but this helped me with some ideas for mine.
Painting it took no time really, just get it to a certain point and it looks great. You can go back and do little details as and when. Thanks for the comment.
