Beautiful! I've been trying to capture the light from stars for a while. In my paintings I've been getting a vary muddy look and my colors just weren't popping. I think I'm in the habit of smoothing everything in background too much and sometimes while things are still too wet. Funny how I always try to rush them. Thanks so much! Can't wait to try this!

Made this look stupid easy... From one artist to another, thank you for the tips, and STELLAR painting as well... Been painting for years, and finally painted one I like with a gas giant, several planets, and so on with my new airbrush. Been using acrylic ink, and having super vivid results. As for you buddy, you got this nailed, and I approve so I subscribe. Paint a big one, 5 or 6 canvas. 2 galaxies eating each other. I would love to see you nail that one too...

Got an ostrich egg with ugly red flowers drown on it for one Easter. Didn't know what to do with it, nobody wanted it. So I painted this galaxy on it , looks quite neat. Thank you for this video was great help. :)

Thank You! I think this is going to help me paint images that are full of light that appear at night like fire flies, etc. using a similar technique! I was having trouble getting the "sparkle" effect I wanted of light coming out of the darkness. This is really helpful!

Dear Ryan...when you look at a galaxy like the one you painted you cannot make out any single planets or moons (like you said around 8:48)!! what you actually see are suns and solar systems and clusters thereof. in each of these systems you then could find planets and moons (and a ton of other celestial bodies) if you were to zoom in of course...but yeah...at this level of zoom you really can't.^^ I love the idea of 10min paintings...especially to try out ideas...like...to see these paintings as training for bigger projects where you could tackle the same kind of subject just much more in depth.

Really wonderful video! Easy to follow with helpful commentary. I'm giving this a shot this weekend and I think it will turn out well, thanks to you... I've subscribed, and look forward to seeing what you have in store!
