Have you tried Polytranspar paints? I use them in my taxidermy work and really like them. I get them from McKenzie taxidermy supply.

Great video and awesome looking bait. For someone like myself who is thinking about starting 1 what airbrush would be a good starter and 2 can you use regular art paint to practice with?

The paints need to be thinner to shoot through the airbrush. If you are on Facebook I have a great learning page called Brotherhood of Custom Crankbait Painting. Learn what you need to get started and learn tips n tricks to painting. If someone shows a photo of their paint job they HAVE to explain step by step how it was painted so you can learn from it.

I think you accidentally showed the original one you did as your finished product because I may be wrong but I thought the one you painted on video was darker than the original
