Painting Upholstery (it's easier than you think!) 

Hoped you’d let us watch how you actually did the decoupaging and layering and painting in between. Too much time was spent on painting the primer and just breezing through the more important steps of the project. And what did you do to “seal” in the decoupage, please …. As I would like to learn more! I hope you would respond to these questions… Thank you!

What type of adhesive did you use to decoupage the paper to the chair and did you have to seal it? This was such a wonderful diy to watch.....I'd love to see more videos on painting fabric and different methods like decoupage, stenciling and other options. Thank you so much 😊

how you sealed the color? by wax or any protective spray?. I tried clear wax on my red painted chair and it looked blotchy and bad.

I ruined a chair by painting. It turned out stuff and crunchy. Watched a fabric painter and she uses fabruc softener. Seemed to be a the answer.

Beautiful!! Oh how I wish others who have filmed and told everyone it's not doable would have watched you video. I did this to dark brown seats in my dining room ...to a beautiful peony pink.... they are stunning AND soft. Others on RU-vid have not done their research and failed

This is truly incredible, the chairs are stunning. You’ve inspired me to tackle a wing chair and recliner chair I was planning on reupholstering, but dreading. They’re 25-yr-old, high-end custom chairs (order tags still attached underneath) that would cost a fortune to purchase new today or to have someone else cover. Hi Sonya ..this is such a lovely piece of art work. I have an older chair which my husband just loves, but is an eye sore for me. do you think its worth it to re-do/paint over an older well-worn chair? if so do I do anything other than what you have demonstrated ?

What about grease stains can those be painted over

What if you have small 1/2-3/4 in hole I fabric at top of chair. Can you cover it with decoupage paper? Would like to see a whole video on decoupaging chair and does it get stiff from glue? Thanks! Chairs are beautiful!

How do they feel? Is the fabric still soft? How does it hold up on the soft cushions after use i.e. cracking?

LOVE this & thank you so much for posting! I've never tried painting because I worry it will have a "hard" feel to sit on / lose the "softness" of fabric... kindof feel like a painting vs. fabric. In your experience with this paint does that happen, or does it still feel like fabric?

Brave soul you are! Chairs turned out beautiful . Question? Did you clean the chairs prior to painting them? And after you sanded the chairs did you vacuum them? I’m wanting to paint to high back chairs in my living room and I’m trying to get my courage up. What kind of paint did you use w/water? Did it feel soft or hard? I’ve heard you can use a fabric softener in the paint. Have you tried that or even heard of it? Thanks in advance for answering my question. Did she say about how much paint she used? Just wondering. I have a Damask Love seat that I was wondering how mus paint to buy....too little, too much ! 32 oz of the paint she recommends is $36. But comes in smaller sizes.

Hi! Can I paint a sofa with satin fabric with chalk paint? The colour now is like an antique yellow and i dont like it. I'd like to try Navy blue or Louie blue ( Annie sloan) what do you think?❤❤❤

These are gorgeous! I've painted fabric with AH OSP and love the results, but this is a wonderful new level adding the decoupage. Now I want to do my 2 wing dining chairs instead of having them reupholstered.

I am totally surprised you just used 100% paint without adding water to it. You're supposed to spray the fabric with water but also add water to the paint so it doesn't dry stiff and it actually stains the material and not paint it

You mention "one step paint" - I believe 1 part paint, 1/2 part water? Is "one step paint" something specific, or will any paint work to do this?

Is it necessary to “clean or shampoo” the upholstery first? Or just go ahead with the way you showed us?

You might want to work on your camera placement, it’s not as enjoyable to observe a tutorial when you only see a. Section of the piece being transformed.
