Thank you for this video. For three days I have been working on the card swipe technique, but even after watching several tutorials, I could not figure out why my whites kept disappearing and my painting was a heavy, muddy mess. I tried more water, less water, lighter touch, but only after I watched yours, did I realize I was using WAY too much paint. I am normally an acrylic artist, so I did not realize just how little paint should be used. A tiny bit, just touch the card lightly into the paint. Do not dig out a chunk! Thank you for pointing that out. I appreciate it.

Love use of credit card all over the place. Your composition is so terrific. (Tired of looking at landscapes done with a credit card.) You are so talented at realistic, but this is my favorite painting of yours.

I fail abysmally at card swipes every time I try. Watching this video you make it look so easy. I tried three different times and sadly made mud with every single one. I don’t know why I can’t get great results.

What brand of paper do you use?
