BBQ and wine can go very nicely together. In this video we teach you simple guidelines for pairing BBQ & Wine. We have a sommelier on staff and he will walk you through some easy to remember guidelines when pairing BBQ & Wine. Will has a Burgundy, Syrah, Malbec and a Resiling and will explain how each pairs best with certain Barbeque
First he teaches you to categorize the BBQ recognizing a items could fall into multiple categories.
The four he comes up with is Rich and buttery for brisket, Salty for Pulled Pork, Fatty for sausage and smokey for turkey. Will then gives guidelines for selecting each wine for each of those different types of BBQ.

Excellent video. I have never been a wine drinker but love to cook with wine and alcohol. A few weeks ago I did watch a television show about wines and parings as this video. I bought my first wine to just drink and was blown away with the it. So I might be changing and start appreciating wines now. Thank you for this excellent video!

Jason, this was fascinating! Will looks too young to know about wines, but I was blown away by his great logic and knowledge! Thanks for the great show my friend!

Interesting video. I live in wine country and I know absolutely nothing about wine. I guess I need to figure what goes well with a good toaster oven meal! LOL

For an everyday whiskey I like Blantons - For a special occaison I prefer the 20 year pappy over the 23.

Fascinating! I've always groped for info on pairing wines with food, and generally found precious little help for the average n00b. Will has the right knowledge, but I'd very much like to hear specifics, like what *kind* of "acidic" wine, or what "sweet" wine, and so on. Not a brand, just a type. As in what do I look for on a label when I go to the store. Zinfandel, burgundy, rose, chardonnay? Which ones fall into what categories? With names we boneheads can recognize... :-)

Hey Moosie! The white with the brisket was a Burgundy and it was FANTASTIC! The sweet one was a reilsing. The Red was a malbec that paired so well with the fatty sausage and the Smokey was a Syrah. I will see if I can get will to come on and provide more info if needed. He is considering a You tube channel to educate and answer questions just like this! Thanks for watching!

Aha! That's what I need, names that I can look for on the shelf. My total experience with wines is summed up with stumbling into a few that I really enjoy, and sticking with them. When I'm standing in front of a mile long shelf all I see are names. I have no clue which one is sweet, or acidic, or tastes like battery acid. LOL Thanks, Jason! I think it would be great if he'd drop back in and take it down a level, to educate those of us who really know precious little. Hopefully I'm not the only one.

Making some pulled pork, Carolina style in the crock pot tonight to slow cook for tomorrow. I work in a grocery store doing wine demo tastings for the customers and my beer and Wine manager at work is a level 2 SOMMELIER and he always recommends great inexpensive wines. Great video
