Even cheaper if you buy from china. Powers from 9v or 12v. Also has a dusk/dawn light sensor. Just remove the battery before storage as it'll stay on in the dark.
Well unfortunately the man that made that video, our former tech guy is no longer on the team, and I don’t know anything about that type of stuff😅. We also haven’t used one of those cameras in years, but oddly enough just yesterday I found one that I still have and was considering using it on our next investigation. When we bought them originally they came with all kinds of little attachments that you could use and one of them was a hard protective action cam like case that is waterproof. We had to cut slots in it so the audio could be usable but if yours didn’t come with that case you probably can find it online, I would try eBay.
And I seriously JUST placed an order on a $60 handheld infrared flashlight literally 10 minutes ago 🤦🏻♂️😆 🤷🏻♂️ Oh well... At least I'll have a backup light incase I fail to build this! (How could anyone POSSIBLY fail to build these, you might ask? Well, I accidently blew up my brand new DJ-equipment approximatly 7 seconds after I had unboxed it...😅 So, you want me to solder electronic wires onto a circuitboard? Ok! But first, just let me call the funeral parlour and book me in real quick, then I'm ready! 😁)
I’m honestly not sure and the guy that built and created that isn’t on the team anymore. It’s also been a long time since we used that particular type of infrared light, but if I had to guess I would say you’d probably get 2 to 4 hours out of it? Now that’s also depending on the brand but that’s just a guess.
Appreciate the reply and will try build one :) Happy anomally finding!!! Will.check out your new videos too. Do protect your eyes from UV lights believe they have those yellow glasses for that :) thanks again!
my question is real towards the original use for the it lights . do you know if you can stop the it lights from coming on but have the day night sensor to work ? the sensor is what makes the it lens filter work on the security camera . I just want the it lights to not come on but I need filter to still be able to go infont of camera . thanks
That I don't know. You can probably cover the leds with something and not cover the sensor. Maybe even remove the leds. I've burned some out and they apparently aren't sequentially powered so the other lights still work when one doesn't.
hello, i am charlie luo,an engineer in new opto,we are manufacturer for IR LED (850nm & 940nm),light sensor, if u have any question ,u can contact me asap ,my skype : charlie 32978
Thanks for the question/comment but unfortunately the guy that made this video, jlo was our tech guy and he’s been off the team for several years now and honestly we don’t really have a tech guy anymore😅 and I have no idea what the names were of any of these items or where he got them from?
Yes, it has to be reALLY DARK FOR THE led RING TO TURN ON, nOTE MINE WIRES THE OTHER WAY ROUND. dO YOU KNOW WHAT THE OTHER TINY PLUG IS FOR? iT SEEMS TO BE MARKED ir fOR infrared; opps Cap look on sorry
Sorry. I seen your comment but it wasn’t here when I checked. I see that it went to spam. All good now. It’s for the 9V battery to power the light. It works off of 12V or 9V.
From my experience it will run about 4-8 hours with a 9v battery but I say this that way because it has a dusk to dawn sensor. Whenever there is other light sources detected, it will shut off. So solid 4 hours and likely more. These don't go farther than say 10' for moderate lighting though.
Para-holiX I think you'd be better off in the long run using a 3 cell Rc lipo rechargeable battery pack. 11- 12v maybe 1800mah to 2400 mah. it would last a lot longer in use and have long service life because you just recharge it. So it works out much cheaper than all those 9v PP3 Batteries you would end up using.
This produces only Infrared lighting which we can't see. If you look directly at the light, you'll see very dim red but that's all. You'll need a modified camera to see the invisible light these produce.

For outside, they’re terrible. Can’t see anything unless there’s tons of trees around you. This only goes about 10’ for indoors. For outside, we use a 30watt Colorado Paratech 6 light array which costs $200 and are powered by two 18650 batteries.
I did not expect a reply, thank you good sir! Ok these won't do me then, I was aiming to angle the camera down at the ground and film about 10' away. It's for a critter cam setup i'm making.
If you can get AC power to it then get a BLACK Reptile Heat Lamp bulb. They cost about $6 and produce tons of infrared light and very very little visible light. They look just like a black UV bulb but aren’t. Get that and a clamp fixture and you’ll be set for really cheap. No problem on the reply, I try when I can.
