Pictures of inside and outside Paisley Park in Chanhassen, Minnesota
Paisley Park is a self-contained 55,000 square foot, $10 million creative-complex located in Chanhassen, Minnesota (about 22 miles outside of Minneapolis). Prince came up with the idea to build the complex while filming the movie Purple Rain.
Construction started on the project in 1986 and it was completed 1988. The complex contains 2 recording studios, a video editing suite, wardrobe department, sound-stage, offices, his music vault and living space.
Prince lived the last year of his life at Paisley Park.
These pictures were taken by the Carver Police Department the day of his passing as well as a couple weeks later during the execution of a search warrant.
Hopefully these photos give you a better appreciation for Prince. He lived a bit more humbly than most people would imagine. For people that have taken the tour, it'll give you the opportunity to see spaces in the complex off limits during the tours.
Because of copyright issues there is no Prince music in this video. Instead I have used music that means something to me. You might not like it or think it fits, but we all have different tastes. Something I think Prince would appreciate. You can always mute the music and play something else while you take a look.
Lastly, please don't leave negative comments about Paisley Park, Prince or his family. People have left comments alluding to the family "looting" and "selling" all his stuff. That is simply not true.
