Thank you very much for the instruction video ! 👍 I have an 1999 Pajero V20 with 3500 V6 SOHC. At the left side , I have a little oil leaking from the valve-cover gasket. The leakage is minimal, and is at the left backside corner. Could it be an idea to carefull tighten the bolts a little bit to see if the leakage stops ? Removing the manifold is quite an "operation" , how many hours you think it would take to replace a valve-cover gasket, only left side ?
Very much welcome sir. Appreciate it. It is really time consuming and when you replace just one side at a time it will just double your time of work. As a mechanic I don't recommend tighten the bolt it really needs gasket replacement but as a car owner I have to consider parts&time availability. So if will do it, this is tricky. Warm up the engine to its normal running temp. Then engine off and tight the all bolt carefully if possible. Just remember safety first, gloves and protection clothes are recommended. Hope it helps Johnny.
Hi, I used WD40 or WG5 whatever available. Basically you just need to make sure it's clean as much as possible before ripping components specifically exposing internal parts.
In my case, I don't have too. This engine intake manifold gasket is aluminized steel coated material it can be reused as long as no obvious damage. Hope it helps.
