Gulab Devi hospital was established by the Indian freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai in 1934 , in the memory of his MOTHER Gulab Devi .

@@AbhishekG026 yeah he died in 1928 but before that in 1927 he had established the trust to build and run the hospital which finally happened in 1934 . So the credit for the hospital goes to him alone .

The History which was I was taught had a balanced approach regarding the Mughals. Today many so called experts say that Muslims ruled India for 1000 years. From the history which I have been taught - Muslims ruled for about 500-600 years and that too not on entire India. By 16th century there was rise of Sikh empire, Maratha Empire and south Indian independent kingdoms

Sir Gangaram is an alumnus of my institute. At the entrance of our central library, we have a huge portrait of him along with other greats from our institute. His bust statue also features in the corridors of the institute main building, the Thomason Bhawan. We also have a couple of wall artworks/graffiti commemorating the life and works of Sa'adat Hasan Manto Sahab across the campus. I am grateful that we are taught to respect and remember great people no matter their religion, caste or background.

Sir Ganga Ram studied in Roorkee, which is IIT Roorkee today. There's a hostel in his name - Ganga Bhawan , i stayed in this hostel for 2 years in first and second year. There are many stories about his student days which have been passed from seniors to junior batches and There's a statue of Sir Ganga Ram in the institute in main building.

Sorry Thompson Engineering College, later Roorkee Engineering College and now IIT Roorkee is located at Roorkee. Please refer to Google maps. Sir Gangaram was a student of Civil Engineering from this college and served undivided Punjab. I hope Pakistani viewers read these comments for their information.
