In Tamilnadu left over rice is soaked in water and consumed the next morning after adding curd or butter milk with small onions or green chillies. This is an everyday food for us -- CURD RICE, for lunch , dinner or anytime of the day.

@@hoeyli soak the left over rice in water overnight, next day morning before eating, add curd to this soaked rice in water and eat it. Very good for health. Don't throw the soaked water. Eat it along with curd and rice.

I am from Meghalaya, when ever I have stomach problems I had this rice and it really help...I enjoy this rice with jheera potatoes.

I used to feel so sleepy after having it back in my college days. My college was in bhubaneswar and during the lunch time in summers we had this with alu chokha and omg! It tasted so yum and made one sleep so well ❤❤❤❤

Very nice recipe. In Maharashtra also we have a similar recipe called Dahibutti, only difference is we do not add water.

Thanda tadka dalne ka kya fayda? Wo tadka hua hi nhi. Garam hi dala jata hai tadka taki flavours infuse ho jay pure dish me. Thanda nhi hone dena hai.
