the day of 27th feb stil gave me goosebumps whenever i saw such stuff 2 years ago on 27th our generation witnessed an ongoing dogfight that day turned in our favour. Mehdi's capture and subsequent imprisoned occurred on 23 November 1971 when he was flying with the finger-four formation of the ground attack/bomber unit near the Eastern India when his F-86 Sabre was shot down by the 20 mm machine gun mounted on the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21.:contents[8] His Wingmen, F/Off Khalil Ahmad and OIC of 14 Sqn. Wg-Cdr Choudhri, who were also shot down, were fortunate enough to escape towards the Pakistani side of the Indo-East Pakistan border.[7] Flight Lieutenant Mehdi parachutted 50 yrs. behind the Chaugachha Upazila where he was pulled by the Indian Army soldiers, and he was physically attacked by the Indian Army soldiers before being rescued by the Captain H. S. Panag, the section commander of the Indian Army.[7] His capture as POW made him the first Pakistani POW and was eventually taken under the custody of Panag who later sent him to Fort Williams.[7] At the time of his capture, his 9 mm pistol, survival kit, aviator glasses, and the photo of his wife was recovered by Panag.[7]
so true bro. when I reached my workplace here in Toronto the first thing everyone told me was about the fight. felt so proud. I dont know what 65 was like or what happened in 71. But experiencing something in own lifetime is priceless.

Whenever India and Pakistan came face to face there always have been Indian pilots who were made our guests :P kargil me bhi your pilots were captured if you remember :P so hum ne to jitni wars dekhi apni life me usme Indian pilots ko hee chai peetay dekha :P
@@dr.sunpreetsingh6993 there is too long a list mention all the Indian pilots returned at Wagah, but they were treated well at least. The IAF is not even close to the PAF.

Israeli Tech: Pakistani superiority Weather : our fighters didn't even notice Clouds : still didn't notice Rafales : they have aircraft carrier we're not afraid , rafale's a small deal compared to that. AMRAAMS : even if you kill an aircraft by crashing into it, i think its still a kill (You can search kamikaze pilots for this one)
