This defeat has hurt us, not because it was yet another game lost from India in a World Cup but it just hurt us! It was strangely unprecedented for reasons I'm still pondering over, but I just did not expect Pakistan to crumble like that at 155/2 and loosing 8 wickets in 36 runs. Babar and Rizwan have exposed themselves as timid batters, lacking intent, that passion or drive that would let the opposition know they mean business. They just seemed too afraid to loose their wickets! Babar and Rizwan were playing so slow that the entire team collapsed as though typical in a test match under these conditions. Cause they really were playing like a test match! I saw Afghan batters play against England the other day and I saw intent, I saw those cuts and pulls, I could see that they wanted to make an alpha statement that they've got nothing to loose against a defending champion opposition. Pakistani batsmen on the other hand, play with the mentality of our country's government employees - just play it safe, save your job, or keep your job to be more precise!
This defeat is undoubtedly the most embarrassing one in 8 - 0. Not only do you need experience to play in an Ahmedabad environment but you also need guts. Batting was timid but the same can be said for bowling, captaincy and overall body language. It’s unfair to just blame Babar and Rizwan for this, in fact, those 2 are the only ones who can soak the pressure. Experience is valuable in big tournaments, lack of experience and batting ability is what cost Pakistan
babar and Rizwan playing too many dot balls was the problem. And ifti chachu played a really unwanted shot. Still a lot of matches to go so not the end of the world.Tbh Pakistan becomes more dangerous as it gets into shell, so let us see the future matches.And i already said before they need to have specialist leg spin bowler like Abrar.There would have been mystery around him too bc he has not played against many of the teams.
