Unbelievable Victory

I remember this so well watching in the UK (with a brilliant Ashes series that same summer). I was born and raised in the UK but my family are from Pakistan but at the time my father, while supporting Pakistan has slight suspicions that India threw the game /match fixed. His theory was because at the time Pakistan and India were having diplomatic talks and good relations with Pervez Musharraf then visiting India shortly after. My father only mildly suspected because at that time India were the better team, especially on paper (they beat Pakistan in Pakistan the year before) so there was surprise they'd lost by a large margin. He also mildly suspected when Pakistan threw the odi series in 2006 in Pakistan when India won 4-1 and the 2011 World Cup Semi Final for the same political diplomacy. I don't think he really believed it and neither do I but I don't blame him for suspecting and the thought crossed my mind (I've never passionately supported Pakistan Post the match fixing of the late 90s, only casually ) after the match fixing of the 90s. At the time I was happy for Inzi as he'd taken flak for his captaincy and also for Younis Khan finally showing what he was made of. At the time I did feel bad for Tendulkar because he was struggling with his form due to a tennis elbow injury but he recovered and went back to his best. I also sympathised for Ganguly because it was also the beginning of the end for him as he'd been a top middle order batsman and an awesome captain. This win was seen as a major upset at the time.

Its was the first series since my childhood where i watched legendary sachine down graded ,Although he scored runs After that till his retirment but i never saw that confindence in his batting which he used to have before ,you can mention his double centurey and many other knocks but he lost his charm he was not able to petrify the opponents with that much confidence
