Personally, I can think of three options : 1. Remove Pakistan as well ban Pakistani students from SAARC & University. 2. Other option might be, transform SAARC University to BIMSTEC University. 3. Last option should be transform completely as Indian University.
2nd option sahi hai isse fund main dikkat nahi hogi aur 1st option main pakistan ko to ban karna hi hai uske sath bangladesh ko bhi samjhana hai ban karke taki wo fund de sake.
India should give a deadline to all countries to clear its dues. If failed, the students from respective countries should be denied visa for SAARC admission. Otherwise it should be made a new IIT or a state of the art University under Indian government.
If the SAARC countries are not paying their due then shift this on the students of their respective countries or make it the complete Indian university. 🇮🇳🇮🇳
There will always be an option of transforming this university into an Indian university. India should not delay this process of payments anymore, other countries especially Pakistan should pay their dues on time otherwise India should refrain students from these countries to study in SAARC university.

From my point of view, India should take action in Assad University to demand for money that others country have to submit there money in University .But if other countries not submitted then India should declare this University as an Indian University and. Allow the others countries. Students to come and study in India as an Indian University in New Delhi.
They way indian population is growing we need more state of the art universities in our country . If India is paying the majority of funds for this university than we should make this into a indian university which will follow UGC guidelines .
This is what I feel Countries who are not paying the money on time or at all , India should not allow their students to study here , Gov. Can convert into an Indian University or higher the course price (around private colleges) to get funds to run it successfully. 😊

Best solution would be to convert it as BIMSTEC University with consultation with BIMSTEC members as I don't perceive future fir SAARC. With the growing prowess of India in Science & Technologies, I think students form BIMSTEC along with CIS & middle east countries cold take keen interest.
Well this is what we should expect from them at this point now. Ignore them and move on for our own good! We should make the University a private one with govt funding only for Indian students. Foreign students can pay the fees..
If other SAARC members are not contributing funds, then no new admissions of students from other countries should be accepted. Make it a complete Indian university for new batches.
During that period (2005) the Indian government was in fools paradise to propose SAARC University and free trade agreement. Either India has to run the University on its own or convert it to an Indian University.
We can make this as an complete Indian University, because now we can not hope for the funds from pakistan and other countries. But, we can continue educating the student of these countries.
Make SAARC an Indian University or university in collaboration with counties who are paying and other countries who are not paying, their students must be charged adequately in tution fees
This solution can work 🤔 See, the financial share % may be different for different countries but the responsibility for the smooth running of this university should be equal for all the SAARC member countries. So there should be a system of paying (as a help or debts) for the countries which are unable to pay for the duration & this help amount should be dividend among all the member countries. i believe if India is funding the whole university now then India should claim for it's ownership and stop allowing Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in this university but can allow Nepali and Bhutanese bcoz these two will eventually pay in future they're just not paying to copy Pakistan

I would say India should go one step further and invite students from Global South. Pitch this campus and develop this campus further and present the same idea with global south countries. This will improve the goodwill of India. Obviously funds have to discussed , same ratio mechanism can work with global south countries as well.

Change the Name from South Asian University to Bhartiya Upmahadweep Vishvavidyalay (Indian Subcontinent University) Make India the sole operator of it and Brain Gain like UK, USA, etc through work permit and merit based citizenship.
SAARC University must be made fee based. When a student from a SAARC nation enrolls, the fund transfer must come with him/her. If any country decides to not utilize their quota, that seat should be opened for private admissions. This will keep the SAARC University running smoothly. SAARC nations may participate based upon however much they can afford.
My opinion is, Govt of India should fund the universities and increase the tuition fees for the students of funds delaying nations to the level of non-saarc nations, as it has two tuition fees mode, one for saarc and other for the non saarc countries.
This should become a regular Indian University with collaboration with some well known foreign universities.or turn it to a Vedic University where Vedic science, maths and other research work on all vedas, upanishad, purans are done.
It should be made and promoted as Indian University with highly qualified and eminent professors with high class education promoting it alike IITs and IIMs .

If it comes down to it. India should keep the university running but keep the programs in place for all those students keep coming to India as long as they are not doing any research on a strategical sensitive technologies. As India will rise we would require as many channels as possible to showcase our realities to the world. As no matter what we do world going to come after us with even more force in efforts to keep India in check. These students who enjoy better education and opportunities out of India's good will , may become India's indirect ambassadors.
Remove all countries who aren't paying for SAARC University,scrap the original proposal & make it a completely indian University. India's neighbours are not in a financial position to fund the university.
We should make it Indian University not because we are paying and should not allow foreign students but because we do not have enough seats for Indian students. We can increase seats and fees with 300 seats as scholarship seats for other nation students.
Simple solution for this one is - Set a deadline for the dues, Remind about the dues to them officially and with it set rules of it like if you are not going to pay the amount then you will automatically pulled out and can't send your students in this university. See who are paying after that for exp nobody paid the dues or just one county paid like Shri Lanka then just Shiri Lanka and Indian students can get admission in it. And set budget according to that. 90% we are going to pay else by Shiri Lanka example.
I think India should talk with other countries , if they are interested in this university and they contribute money . Thereafter we continue this university otherwise we should change SAARC UNIVERSITY into CENTRAL UNIVERSITY Therefore OUR STUDENTS GET BENEFITS.... In my opinion this is best for everyone.
Firstly, India should send a reminder to all SAARC countries about this. If they don't give any response, then India should convert this university as an INDIAN University.

Transform completely into an Indian University. It doesn't make any sense to let Indian Government Pay for the Other Countries student to study in India. Let them study in their own country. Our Indian Government should primarily focus on Indian Student Education.

India should make reforms and make an Internation college and instead of just saarc students should allow African, Latin American, European, North American and Indian students. it should be in compition to Oxford University, MIT and Standard University
I think education should be provided free of cost (rather than banning students from respective countries) whatever be the students nationality, but instead of naming as SAARC university, it can be renamed as University for India for SAARC countries or something similar.
I think India should try making a group of its own may be "international Development partnership". (IDP) which will be LED by India and we can have Nations like nepal bangladesh sri lanka Indonesia , other Nations near Indonesia, japan, South Korea, saudi, uae, egypt, South africa and other african Nations. Idp Must be majorly funded by rich Nations like India, uae saudi Indonesia etc. Idp should avoid pure West Nations like usa and europe and china and Pakistan. Under idp we should develop hub cities in idp Nations which provide airport, trade Network, and idp university. This grouping can increase India influence.
This university should be acquired by either a private entity or if indian government wants to run it then remove any saarc affiliated matter and convert it completely into a pure indian government university, we can't or shouldn't pay to educate our enemies.
I think we should wait for some more time because for India it will not be a.cost burden and it will also help the economy as all other countries students will come to India. I think the access of this university should not be limited to SAARC members only. It should be open for all of our friendly nations too. As I know ICMR invites many students from other nations on the basis of merit and scholarship I think that will be a proper use of this university.
