Thank you for such a great explination of the tree. I also appreciate both the far distance shots and close up shots to see the entire tree. Thanks so much!
Originated in Pakistan they do excellent in the world deserts. I had many in Phoenix and had so much Mulberries for us and the birds and the fridge. Thanks for the video Adrian. It is incredible how many good trees can be grown in the desert.
Try Pakistan guvava , the most delicious, the sweetest which grows in certain parts of Pakistan, the fruits comes in white, pink color, very very very very sweet, the tree produce fruits two to three time a year
Wow very nice tree 👍.and great video . Yesterday i planted a new mulberry tree in my garden . I just love them specially the white ones since the black ones are really a mess . I need to check if i can find this variety looks awesome.
I have to go check out the "California Tropical Fruit Trees" nursery since I have never been there. I have bought many fruit trees from "Exotica" nursery which is also in Vista, California. I recently planted several varieties of mulberry.
Thank you for the watering info, I’ve been deep watering mine up near Niagara Falls. It’s only in its second year, relatively small still. Some leaves dropping as our Spring was cool, and lots of rain. It was around 90 degrees a couple of weeks ago for a week, now dropped down to 70’s and 80’s. So how long do you leave Mulberry till you water, please?
How are the stems on the fruit from the Pakistani mulberry? Do you have to remove them to make a pie for example? I have a Tice Mulberry and the fruit are large but I have to remove the stems because they're so thick. I have a Pakistani too but it's young and haven't got any fruit off of it yet. The reason yours is getting water is that their roots are all over the place. Those roots go well beyond the canopy line of the tree, so your tree is getting water from its neighbors as well. That thing will get huge. Mine is probably reaching a 40-foot canopy diameter around the plant.
@@socalbackyardorchard3768 Thanks for the reply. The only mulberry I don't remove stems from are the tiny everbearing ones. But they're way too small and it takes forever for me to gather enough for a pie!
Our tree is about 5yrs old and we got about 20 gallons of berries this year, spread through a little over a month. The first pie we made, we left the stems, but the baking process made the stems really hard. So, the second pie we made we used scissors to cut the stems off which took some time, but my was it worth it!! Yum yum. Our favorite fruit pie. Our black mulberries we use for jams. We tried a pie using the black mulberries and it was good, but not as good as the Pakistani!!!
mulberries are definitely trees you need to prune aggressively otherwise they grow into monster sizes. you should get better fruit yields anyway by having a more compact tree.
The Elsinore Gardener only thing on the tree are ants, they are on the fruits. No big deal tough I just wash them thoroughly to get all the ants off. I’m surprised that the birds aren’t eating the mullberries. Maybe they haven’t discovered them yet.
Hi. Did you ever have issues with the mosaic virus on your mulberry? My 5 gallon plant seems severely impacted. Any idea on what my options are other than digging that tree out? Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing, that’s a beautiful tree! I’m a little south from you in La Mesa, I need to take a trip up north and pick one of these up to start my little back yard edible forest. Any others you recommend as beginner trees, first trees to buy?
King V the tree is planted on a slope, so the pvc pipe is so I can water the tree without the water going downhill. This way the water goes directly down to the roots. The pipe has about 10 small holes. I really don’t need it anymore now that the tree is bigger and established but it was useful when the tree was young.
У тебя мужское растение которое цветет и дает пыльцу а цвет его похож на длинную ягоду тебе нужно спилить дерево оставить от земли 30 сантиметров полезут молодые ветки и их нужно привить женским сортом
