Starting from the King who gave villagers the land (in return of demigod in the form of idol stone) later on kings descedents claim back and try to snatch land from the villagers by all means. Finally the demigod saves villagers from King's family. I am from native coastal Karnataka of Indian state where the devine story gave birth to movie Kanthara. Varaha rupam music touches so much to my heart , the moment Kanthara music 'Varaha Rupam' starts my eyes becomes wet. This song touches my soul every time. For others this is a movie. But for we native coastal Karnataka this is lifeline of our life. Our soul revoles arround 'BHOTHA KOLA'. We cannot imagine a life without 'Bhutha Kola'. Bhuta kola is the annual rituals for worshipping demigod. Divine power such a beautifully picturised I could not hold my tears several times during watching movie, because we believe 'Panjurli' and 'Guliga' every day protect us. Our part of the world never seen any natural calamity for centuries. We believe we protected by these demigods. This movie picturised with extreme devotion. The one acre area of the film set was treated like holy place , no one used to wear shoes or sandals. No one used to eat non veg food or drink alcohol. During entire shooting period director hero Rishab Shetty never visited his family. When you deliver the things with such an extreme devotion , the result is 'KANTHARA' the soul of our cultre. You had doubt as to at the beginning who disappears after running into forest...Actually there are two spirits in the movie (powers) 1 panjurly..which gives justice and another is guliga, which punishes the culprits. 1st one is master of 2nd. 1st power is doubted on its power to provide justice..so the at the end 2nd power comes in the body of hero and punishes the culprit.. These power vanishes after the work is done. 1st power came in the body of father and 2nd power came to son. And these powers doesn't directly speak..they speak to human body.

That's not police officer. That's forest officer. The hero gets the heroine the job in the forest department through some local influence. When you'll watch the movie, you'll understand. The villagers think the forest is their property & it's very divine to them, they believe everything in it belongs to them. The forest department is against this as they argue that the forest belongs to the government & exploiting the forest is crime. There exist the conflict between the forest officials & villagers on one level. There's the divine presence which ultimately brings about peace between everybody. Manipulators are punished. Divinity ultimately presides over everything.
