This is why you have to watch the Tales in order and together. Watching people start with Violet or only do 1 is frustrating because you miss the pay off at the end. Love your reaction.

I never watch any reaction that listens to these individually. Too frustrating for me.

Bro... I think Ren deserves his own playlist! Trust the stranger on the interweb... the deeper ya dig into his work... the more layers you'll discover! Seriously... he has more layers than an onion, more Bars than a Prison!!!

A masterful tragic tale of the generational cycle of violence. The RENagade community often refers to this genre of Ren's as "bardcore", after the mediaeval traveling minstrel tradition of storytelling, but with a modern twist.

When Renegades refer to Ren as a modern-day Shakespeare, I have to agree, especially after listening to the Tales. I don't know how many times I've had to pause his videos to digest his lyrics. During an interview or Twitch talk, Ren also referred to this genre as bardcore--and he seemed to revel in that, saying it with a smile.

Yeah....few things have ever made just say 'wow'. Live performance, one-take, sings, acts, plays guitar, writes the story, etc...incredible talent. Nobody else is doing this, probably because they can't.

Wow, what a shock to dive into this one straight after Love Music part 4! You're discovering that no two Ren songs are the same. You'll find yourself changing your mind over which one is your favorite. Money Game & Money Game part 2 are a must, especially as he'll be releasing a part 3 soon (October 12th I believe). The album drops on October 13th. Money Game part 2 has both a live version and a lyric video. Be sure to pick the lyric video as it is the full version. Great reaction by the way! Not many reactors pick out the lyrics, they just react with their emotions. There's nothing wrong with that at ALL, but I appreciate the appreciation of the lyrical content too 😊

Just need to add as multiple versions... Money Game (OFFICIAL live music video with Sack Man thumbnail) and Money Game Part 2 OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO first, not the live version. The imagery and lyrics and banging backing track add a lot to the words

He is like a medieval minstrel brought up to date. Masterpiece. Jennys tale was prompted by a newspaper story and people saying its such a shame then a few months later came Screeches tale then it was nearly 2 years before he released Violets tale tying it all together.

Love Music 1-3 is a good place to start.. also Money Game 1-2, as 3 is dropping just before the album drop.. and they are both really good.. then after that.. I guess just close your eyes and choose a track.. they are ALL good.. every time I suggest a track, I immediately think of another track just as good.. ad infinitum.. that is why no-one can give you a clear favourite track 😁… mine changes as my mood changes … but good options are Penitence, Ready for you, Hold on, Ocean, Humble, murderer and the murderer acoustic…. See 🤷‍♀️

Ren's fans call this style Bardcore (like the bard Jaskier in The Witcher, except in modern times) and here's the origin story of this trilogy 🤩😁🤯 This wasn't originally a trilogy story. Ren read in a small article about a 14 yr old boy killing a young prostitute with a knife in an attempted robbery. Knife crime had been skyrocketing in London at this time. Later that same evening the boy had been shot and killed by the police responding to a murdered girl in Sussex Gardens in Paddington - one of the capital's most notorious red light districts. It disturbed him, so he set out to write a commentary not just on senseless violence, but on how desensitized we've become to it. The words he ends both Jenny and Screech's Tales with is "It's such a Shame" we say these words all to often and just move on, without a second thought. The the lead inspector was quoted saying " So Young, It's such a shame". Violets Tale was written over 2 years later adding yet another layer of commentary by Ren. He wanted us to consider not only generational violence but to make us look at all angles of society that we turn a blind eye to. Both characters are born out of violence on that cruel night of Violets beating and then both killed with brutal violence in the same night 14yrs later. Also, his lyrics have even more meaning when you read in between the lines. For example he doesn't say what Jenny was doing or why she wanted to escape from this place & life, or why Screech thought she was older saying at Patrick's door "I left this lady lying on the floor". Could it be the way she's dressed & her heavy makeup? Also why is a 14yr old girl out so late at night alone in a sketchy area wearing high heels & that "she's walked it a thousand times before". Everything points to Jenny being an underage prostitute, showing us what Ren writes has reason & makes us think. There's no fat on the bone, every word is weighed & has meaning. Also, how can both these siblings be so cursed? Both are born out of violence on that cruel night of Violets beating and then both killed with brutal violence in the same night 14yrs later. Interesting how Jenny has the same traits as her mother Violet, quiet, voiceless, and timid. Whereas Screech mirrors his father Stevie in every way, Loud, obnoxious, and easily prone & provoked into violence. They didn't know one another and had never met their biological parents. What made these kids so much like their parents? Was it simply Nature, inherited traits due to their genetic make-up OR Nurture, being brought up in the broken governmental system filled with, mistreated & in many cases, abused children? He organically takes us on this journey, leaving us to think shouldn't we be doing better job in this so called "advanced, wealthy, 1st world society. I'm loving your reactions, they can't come out fast enough. Cheers 🥂.

"Siren sounds approaching like a Banshee in the night" 7:45 foreshadowing. Banshees in mythology always warn of someone's upcoming death... usually for the one who hears the call. But there was still a chance it could have been Richard, the warning of fate can be turned onto another

A little known twist is Patrick isn't home because he's cheating with Screech's girlfriend....That's why she's busy. Watching reactions to this trilogy is the absolute best and you did not disappoint! Great video! Have you checked out any of Ren with his band The Big Push? They are a lot of fun to watch and the band is incredible as well. And the duets he does with Chinchilla and Sam Tompkins are great. One of my favourite older ones us Heretic, and Penitence has a great flow. Everybody drops and Ready for you are solid, and Money Games and blind eyed are must. But you might want to throw in Illest of our time, sick boi, Animal Flow, or the Hunger to see what he has got as a rapper. My favourite modern hip hop is still Genesis, non live. The hook!

Great Reaction! Ren began his music career making beats, recording them and selling them at age 12. Not able to find any Rappers in his tiny rural home town in Wales, UK ... he taught himself to Rap, he also is self-taught on guitar, bass, drums, piano, and a couple other insruments. He slowed down YT videos and figured out how to play guitar. Seems he can neither read or write music scores. He sees shapes of the sounds and where to place that shape with his fingers to get those sounds. In addition to the damage to nerve coatings in his brain and body, he has become allergic to all but maybe 4 vegitables and plain roasted meat. Though he can enjoy a variety of herbs for flavor. His only beverage is water. ** Please take time to go to his YT channel and his section labelled Community. The Celebration for 1million subscribers should surpise snd delight you. Then just watch and read all there. Its public

Yeah, the track really plays with the listener. They are horrific stories you are listening to, but as you say, he pulls you in with skillfully descriptive lyrics. Then, at the end of Violet's tale, after the emotional rollercoaster you've tone through, you suddenly feel played! Because it's all been setup for a huge plot twist or reveal at the end. I felt manipulated and yet I didn't mind. I don't personally like the horror genre of movies, but it's almost like I imagine people who do like it enjoying the shock value of it. "No, no, no, NO! I didn't just hear that!"

Masterpiece. Ren is mega talented; a lyricist, rapper, singer, script-writer, composer, storyteller, guitarist, actor... THE LIST GOES ON! But just as important; he is also a powerful Social Commentator. He brings us right into the frame as 'Witnesses' to the action. Ren wants us to Care about these characters. Not just murmur vague platitudes like " What a shame..." at a shocking news item, and then, forgotten in the next breath, click away - to something 'more entertaining'... We CAN do more - FAR more to stop these tragedies from continuing.
