Other languages of south India (Dravidian Languages) derived from Ancient Tamil (Tamizhi) .. Telugu, Kannada and other languages have now grown to be individual political identity. So some are not accepting that their language derived from Tamil . A distorted form of Tamizhi is Dravidi(am). So Caldwell who first established that there are languages independent of Sanskrit (previously it was propagated that Sanskrit was the mother of all the Indian languages to cement the idea of India Hindu Identity) and he named the book Comparative study of Dravidian languages. Then Dravidiam become political identity of southern states especially Tamilnadu. Even before the idea of Pakistan partition. Leaders of south demanded separate country for Southern India from British called Dravidanadu. This idea was strong in Tamilnadu but in other southern states there was not enough support. So Tamil leaders thought that other states do not feel that they belong to Dravidian identity and hence changed their demand to Separate Tamil Country. Jinnah proved that his majority in election with his demand for Pakistan where as Dravidar kazhagam which is a social reform party and not a political party did not have any proof that majority of people approve of separate Tamil country. 1962 new law passed to end the demand for separate country. Now many Tamils feel that using Dravidam instead of Tamizh overshadows their ancientness while other language people would like to believe that all languages derived from a common language called Proto-Dravidian. Telugu, kannada and other languages formed due to the mix of other northern languages such as pali, Prakrit, sanskrit etc . Tamilnadu was less influenced by other languages so Tamil stays very close to ancient scripts that get discovered in any part of the world. Others use Dravidam as a word of encompass all non-aryan people to oppose aryanism. Why oppose aryan ? bcoz they believe Tamil Civilization was casteless. It got divided into numbers castes after the entry of aryans. Their political idea clash is what you see in comments.

Yes, as you mentioned Tamil is not just a language for us, it’s our DNA, mmm not just for us and it’s for the mankind. We love our language more than our lives and life as it has treasure for the mankind. We Tamils knew that our’s is the mother language and I don’t want North Indian to say that it’s from Sanskrit. "Arabic" Snake scripture language means in Tamil. Arabic reflects the snake shaped letter. Aravam means snake in Tamil. in ancient ,People who lived in snake island(nagar island) then migrated into gulf region and brought their language with them. Now they called Arabic. Arabic is also a part of Tamil. Saudi Arabia means sau- sun, udi- rise, means sun rises or sun power influenced land in Tamil. Now we get the correct name for Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the scortching land. This is the one of the example.

How iravatham mahadevan prove that script is thamil means, all letters are wrote without gap, they applied same method to this script bcs max letters are exact to brami except 4 letters, in tamil it have special three "la, two" Ra" and three "Na", these 8 letters are consonents in tamil, two "na", one "la" and "Ra" already present in the script so they apply this letters then try to study, one imp thing is special "la" that is "zha" eg:Tami(zha), is present only in tamil, First checked in prakrit and pali but arrangements of letters and word does not depend pali and prakrit, and did not give meaning also, when they try to study tamil which gives means, first unknown 4 letters are applied by special tamil letters, which give tamil meaning at the same time which arranged letters by ancient tamil grammer "Thozlkabiyam" rules, so mahadevan concluded this Tamil brahmi, and classified Tamil brahmi and ashoken bramhi,

Ancient Tamil have good knowledge on sailing,and they ancient Tamil emperor have their own navy .They trade with Rome, Greece and China 3. Most of the Tamil literature are done Jain monks and Buddhist monk., Because they need to understand this language to spread their religion and religious ideas
