How did Sita Mata die in real life? Lord Rama and Mata Sita can't perish. They are eternal. They end their mortal life within Tretayuga and then live within Saketa planet. Now let us see how Lord Rama and Sita end their mortal life. Padma Purana states that when Lord Rama sent some of his spies to secretly see about his citizen's wellbeing. One spy saw listened secretly one washerman's sentences to his mother and wife which that spy went and told his King Rama. “One Washer man, with his eyes red all because of anger and kicked his wife who had stayed within another man's home, and also then despised her- “From my house, go to that house of him where you stayed for one day. I shall not take you who violate my commands.” Then his mother said to him-“Do not abandon her who has come (back) to (our) house, who has not committed any fault, and who is free from bad acts.” That angry washer man then said to his mother- “I am not as great as Rama who would keep(my wife) which stayed within another’s house. Whatever that Lord or king does, might be lawful; I won't take my wife who has one day stayed within another’s house.” He again and again said these words-“I am not king Rama who protected Sita that had stayed within any another’s house or place.” From Padma Purana. That spy tells this to Lord Rama who is then disturbed all time due to these words from one of his people. King Rama fainted when he listened to this. He thought that he had now brought infamy to His lineage because of insults of washer man regarding Sita. He asked Bharata whether he should leave his wife who was now due with one child. Bharata said that even Brahmadev himself told about how pure and chaste Sita was. But Lord Rama said that it may further be one public scandal. He decided that it was better to leave Sita inspite of his mind not willing to do it. Then Lakshmana leaves Sita within forest and tells her true reason why she was sent here. She was sad and said, “How could my Lord abandon me this way? I'm sinless. I have not thought of any one than Rama. Tell your brother that though he told you to leave me here, I would forever be his chaste wife Sita and within my each life I will be his wife only.” Lakshmana was teary eyed and he quietly went to Ayodhya. Stories of that washerman going against Lord Rama's will to keep Queen Sita who considered her to be chaste are not mentioned within Valmiki Ramayan. These stories of parrot cursing Sita and that serving as reason of separation between her and Lord Rama and then that sad parrot reborn to be that washerman who became reason for Lord Rama to leave Sita are mentioned within Padma Purana and not Uttara Kanda of Valmiki Ramayan. Uttara Kanda of Valmiki Ramayan states that one of Lord Rama's councillors tell told him that people of his city Ayodhya within public places or even houses talked about how Rama could keep Sita within his palace and make her their queen who was touched via Ravana while he forcefully placed her within his lap. Sita was for more than one year within Lanka. How could Rama keep Sita? This was thought via people of Ayodhya. Lord Rama is sad and fainted when he listened to this about what his people thought about his chaste Sita. He doesn't want public scandal therefore he tells Lakshmana to leave that lovely lady Sita within forest. It is stated that it was also Sita's wish to behold female mendicants or saints on banks of River Ganga. This wish of Sita to live some time peacefully within forests was to be fulfilled now via Lord Rama. It was also Lord Rama's time to return to Vaikuntha where celestials waited to see him back with Mahalakshmi. That's why Sita would be that purpose of Lord Rama coming back to Vaikuntha. Sita wailed and all those mendicants saw her wailing. They told this to Valmiki who came there and told Sita to come within his hermitage where all female mendicants or saints would care for her and her unborn one. Lakshmana saw this and was sad. That time Sumantr who was charioteer of Lord Rama told him that it was predestined. It was told via Durvasa rishi to King Dasharatha that Sri Rama would have to leave Sita and due to influence of time he would abandon Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughna also. He tells Lakshmana to not tell this secret to any one and they come back to Ayodhya. With time two boys are born to Sita within hermitage of Valmiki. Maharishi Valmiki teaches Ramayan to those boys who are called Lava and Kusha. Lord Rama decides to conduct Ashwamedha yagna. They leave one beautiful black horse with all beneficial marks and that is worthy for that sacrifice. That horse goes through all kingdoms and all kings do not stop it. They are submissive to Lord Rama and also praise him that he is Lord of three worlds. Valmiki is also invited for that yagna who had written Ramayan. Valmiki tells Lava and Kusha to sing poem of Ramayan infront of Lord Rama. When Lava and Kusha sing Ramayan and all of Lord Rama's valiant and heroic deeds Lord Rama is surprised to listen his own story and asks them who their father is. They say they are disciples of Valmiki. They sing whole of Ramayan infront of Lord Rama, queen mothers and his people. Lord Rama came to know that they were his sons. On knowing this he sent one messenger to forests where Sita lived and asked her to prove her chaste nature and if she was sinless after which he would take her as his queen. Sita listened to her Lord and decided to come within Lord Rama's palace next day. She came there with Valmiki, other saints and Lava and Kusha. All monkeys, rakshasas , people of Ayodhya and queen mothers were present for Sita's trial. Valmiki told Rama that he had never spoken lies. He told that Sita is one chaste lady and Lava and Kusha were sons of Lord Rama. Lord Rama said that “Oh holy one, I know of my wife's loyalty to me yet let her give testimony of loyalty to satisfy minds of people.” But Sita wanted now to protect her self respect. She said “I have been chaste and have not thought of any other man than Rama. If this is true than let Mother Vasundhara take me within her lap”. When she said this Earth ripped and one beautiful throne carried Sita to Patala while Lord Rama's teary eyes could not see his beloved leave him. He warned Earth to leave his dear Sita near him. Then Lord Brahma came there and said that he and his Sita would reunite within heaven. He asked Lord Rama to rule Ayodhya till his time came. Lord Rama mourned for Sita and was one caring father to his sons. He ruled Ayodhya for many years. People of Ayodhya were also remorseful because they doubted their devoted queen Sita.
