This song sung so beautifully in Lataji's extremely melodious voice takes us to the other world. The music is so soft and beautiful that it touches the heart. Of course it's a wonderful composition of Rajesh Roshan. Lyrics are also excellent. Nicely picturised in the village background. Seems as though time has come to a stand still. We miss such songs nowadays. At least we are fortunate to hear these old songs because of U Tube.

Never heard this song. Not until after Lataji left all of us. But when I heard it I felt that I have always known this song. There is that instant connection. The scenes even though I am a tamilan, are completely relatable. Transports you back to your childhood when life was simple, and innocent. I especially loved the way she forgets to drink her tea and then hugs her mom who silently understands her daughters emotions. Divine picturisation. Lata was the soul of this song. I simply know that this type of song will never ever be created again. Thank you lataji. Thanks to all u tube listeners who have commented. I agree with everyone’s sentiments.

But there is something about lata’s voice that I haven’t found in any one else’s. I cannot describe it. P susheela mam comes very very close. Thanks for suggesting this song. Though Rajesh Roshan stole a lot, he did not steal this from a Malayalam song, as far as I know.

The latest crop does not do such songs/music/lyrics. The storylines of yester years are unrealistic...cannot call thus resulting in a long ride to go get the doctor and so on - no longer relevant when every fisherman and hawker has a cellphone, so if Aliya Bhatt sang such songs fully clad, the film would flop. the public there needs to see skin to make the movie a hit - thus the rape culture in that country...for which Bollywood is to blame in a fairly substantial way. I know one leads to another :) sorry. But yes you are right, Lata was at her peak then and very melodious music by Rajesh Roshan.

Yes.. true..this song is old compared to present year 2020...but according to me songs in 1950s are far better and sweet than these... Listening to Lataji's tender voice of 50's is a out of this world experience. Her voice changed a lot and became very sharp. Can compare from her songs right from Ayega Anewala from Mahal, Barsat songs, Ye Zindagi usi ki hai from Anarkali, Dhire se Ajari Nindiya from Albela till Aja re Pardesi from Madhumati...from 1971's Bobby Lataji's voice changed very abruptly.

Have you heard this kind of songs since last 15 years. Just see the tune, the meaning...... After Pritam type music director came the soul of pure Hindustani music got polluted with western type of composition.
