Palafamala-The story behind the name 

The name, Palafamala, gives respect to the Keahi Ohana on Maui that took me in and shared with me the good life of paddle making, paddling, fishing, and much more.
Some of my favorite memories are of us spear fishing or surrounding Pala, a small reef fish, in front of their family home on the water down Mala. There’s nothing better than dropping that pan fry fish into sizzling oil, cracking a cold beer and talking story with good friends and family...about paddling of course.
