Zambales Road Trip No. 4 : PALAUIG
Palauig is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Zambales, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 39,784 people. The municipality of Palauig is the nearest mainland to the Philippine-claimed EEZ Panatag Shoal, or Scarborough Shoal.
Palauig is bounded by Candelaria (north), San Jose in Tarlac (east), and Iba (south).
Palauig is an agricultural town where rice, mango and fish are the major products.
A unit of Ayala Corporation, one of the Philippines’ leading business groups, operates a sprawling solar farm that adds power supply to the Luzon grid.
