Obsessed. Emerson was the first one to go after what he thought was this sparkly light, he went after it not knowing it would drown him, lyrics talk about all the ways a person copes with depression, imagination being a big one too, it's so easy to get lost in your own imagination, its a safer place than facing 'reality'. AHH i love this video and this band so much.

Imagine this: It’s three thirty AM, you haven’t been able to sleep all night as usual. There are so many thoughts circling through your head, things that you don’t want to think about. You can’t stop worrying about if you did something wrong, or if something bad is going to happen. You’re so stressed, so nervous, and all of a sudden you break. Suddenly you can’t breathe, your eyes fill with tears, your body starts shaking, you just want to escape everything. You want it all to stop. You’re so tired of bottling up every last emotion you feel and covering them up with a fake smile. I interpreted as someone struggling from depression. Searching for any way to escape the lack of feelings and when there is, pain. Songs are about whatever you interpret them to be. They left it open so people could decide for themselves how they want to relate to it :)

I understand that this song about their friend but every song has a underlying meaning. This one might be about emerson depression. He the first one to jump into the water. Then the other two jump to try and safe him, but end up drowing. This could be symbolic of no mater how hard you try help a person with depression, who might end up going down with them. Then they all get saved by what I think might be aypoilic of how fans saved them. Emerson always says when he is depressed he what's to destroy everything but our artwork and letters keeps him going. Also emerson hat is in the water, does this mean at he end em ends up going back in and ever makes it out again. This could very wrong.

Puede que tengas razón y me lleva a una carga emocional muy fuerte, es como ver el vídeo de nuevo por primera vez, con respecto al final del vídeo... Bueno soy muy fan de la banda y mucho más de Emerson, soy diseñador gráfico y su estilo me encanta, digo esto por una razón importante... Si te das cuenta el al principio del vídeo estaba usando un sombrero nuevo que no habíamos visto en sus videos, bueno, sombrero nuevo para aquel entonces, y cuando termina el vídeo, el sombrero que sale flotando en el agua es su viejo sombrero era aquel sombrero viejo con tela desgastada y un aro de metal colgando por la parte faltante del sombrero, lo que digo es... Si tomamos en cuenta lo que dijiste, puede que Emerson esté tratando de dejar esa fase, el sombrero representa ello, de ahí en adelante yo nunca más lo ví usar su viejo sombrero de nuevo, quizá deja al final un mensaje que representa cerrar un fase...🖤✨

I had a dream about Palaye Royale recently, it was so emotional. Remington died in the dream (or rather- nightmare) and his brothers were so sad... and lost. I felt so unbelievably devastated that I didn't know what to do with myself. It made me realize how much this band means to me, and how much I hold their music very dearly. This is my favorite band, and my favorite song. I am so glad I get to live on the same planet with them and experience what amazing things they create and how they make me feel, which is *happy.* ^-^

The way I see this music video and song is a mediator, it shows their love as brothers and if one goes under (drugs) they all fallow trying to save each other. The hand at the end I believe represents their close bond with their mother and how she pulls them back everytime

Omg I remember September 2019, when the first person I fell in love with broke my heart and left me for someone else, just listening to this on the way home from school and I remember the sleepless nights I cried listening to this too. This is one of my favorite songs off of side b. It's so beautifully written, and there's so much power and emotion spilling out through out the entire song. I think they really could've done anything for the video and I would be happy as long as the visuals held onto that. And they definitely did not disappoint, everything about this is beautifully done. It's so important when a music video can have as much power to make you feel as the song does, and palaye is a genius when it comes to creating visuals and a story for their music.

Given the context of the song I find it interesting that Emerson is wearing an armband that looks like a tourniquet. I’m not sure if this was intentional but I if it was intentional it’s a nice and subtle nod towards drug abuse.

OMG I loved this. I saw so much meaning in this. What this represented to me was that the light that Emerson saw was a worldly type object that might cause him satisfaction for a temporary time. Remington and Seb go in and try to save him from that but they see it too and they get sucked in to it too. This causes them to stay under water and almost drown bc the worldly object is actually hurting them in the long run. The hands that are pulling them up I feel are the true fans or family. We send a ton of positivity to the boys to make them feel better as possible and that possibly could turn their decisions and lives around. That's what my meaning/feeling of the video is and I just enjoyed it so much. Thank you for such an amazing video. ❤
