Yeah, I would have liked to see a comparison to other batteries in this space. Todd at Project Farm has a good couple of tests of this type he did, but I don't recall if he did the PaleBlue brand.

Sadly its outdated, so no paleblue, but i assume the results will be the same. Right now NiMH seem to be a better choice if the device is not voltage specific
@sujovian

Wow there are terrible stats. A good AA alkaline battery can deliver 3,000 mAh. A good NiMh battery will do 2500 mAh. This battery delivers just 1700 mAh. Would be great to put it through just 100 recharge cycles (10% of rated) and then see how much the MaH rating decreases. That’s the true measure of a rechargeable battery

About 2 years ago i invested in ebl brand lithium ion batteries. I was replacing my 4 9volt batteries every 6 months in my smoke detectors. I was paying about $5 per 9 volt battery. Not sure of priceing now but i bought 4 ebl 9 volts for $20. Love all my rechargeable batteries. Your Pale Blue batteries look like a great option as well

I’ve used AA and AAA from them and had a good experience, I’m interested in seeing how the 9v C and D last

I was tired of replacing all of the AAA batteries in the remotes around the house. Using EBL' are working out great.

Every 6 months?? Either you have some dud smoke detectors or you are using the wrong batteries. Most smoke detectors arent designed to run off the different battery chemistry of rechargeables because the discharge state, resting state, and charge voltage are different.

Great video! I think a lot of the people complaining about the cost don’t realize the benefits of lithium. Apples to oranges.

Great review. I have tried over the years, all of the NiMH rechargeable batteries, and to be honest, I never thought they performed as well as the regular batteries, but I've always trusted your reviews so I'm going to give them a try😊👍Again, as always a great and fun review to watch..

NiMH have better amp rating and much cheaper per charge. Only draw back is the lower voltage of 1.2v. Some devices want a specified voltage for max performance. I haven't seen AA lithium rechargeable that will out perform a good NiMH battery.

Very interesting... I wonder how these would compare to regular rechargeable batteries?
@LocoBeeFPV
@LocoBeeFPV 9 месяцев назад
Probably not good. Id still go with NiMH. I have AA and AAA nimh that last over 10 years and they have an extremely safe chemistry.

Have you had a chance to test out the actual capacity of the batteries that pale blue manufactures? That's probably the number one factor for most people when choosing any type of rechargeable battery is the rated capacity versus actual capacity. This also tends to be one of the largest determining factors on the longevity of a battery manufacturer.

Very interesting products, and I just ordered that battery case. That will make it so much easier keeping them organized. I recently bought AAA, AA and D size Amazon NiMh batteries but I will be looking into Pale Blue also.

How do these compare to the Energizer, Amazon, EBL, AA or AAA batteries I have been using for years and seem to go through like one would eat M & Ms because so many devices now require these ? I wind up constantly buying new batteries but have limited income and have an Energizer case for my batteries but its not as nice as your organizer case. I do not get much call to buy C, D or 9 volt batteries any more. Back in the past almost every device used those going back to the 1950s. Thanks for posting this video & I subscribed. I will review these when I buy them and mention your channel.

Love your videos. I always appreciate you bringing new products to us. I think these batteries are really cool, but at $7+ for each AA battery I think they are too expensive compared to other good options like Enloop which cost only $3-$4 per AA battery. Maybe there is something about Pale Blue that is better, but if so it wasn’t apparent to me.

they charge to 1.5 volts so work where nicads don't (when vendor specs 1.5 v) nicads charge to 1.2 v so don't provide enough 'volts' to drive the device. And lithium does not self discharge as fast so last longer on the shelf. But if you keep on top of the nicads that isn't a concern. If nicads work in your device stick with them probably until prices drop.

JSYK, all lock manufacturers say NOT to use lithium batteries or rechargeable batteries in any locks. They’re all designed to recognize upcoming low-battery conditions in alkaline discharge patterns to make sure you don’t get locked out by surprise.

@@TechMadeEzyI’m not sure what you mean by temps. The concern wasn’t so much temperature, but voltage. A standard alkaline battery loses voltage slower than does a lithium battery like PaleBlue. Many devices such as locks and smoke detectors are designed to recognize the drop in voltage as a sign that the battery needs to be replaced. Due to the slow drop, the device can easily determine that an alkaline battery is low with enough time to replace it before it dies. The same device may not detect that the lithium battery is low until is basically dead.

🤔. What is the Lithium Ion chemistry of these batteries? What is the fire safety of this chemistry? LiFePO4 or Li Titanate are the safest chemistries while most of the others are subject to “Thermal Runaway” as the many serious EV fires attest. Most Lithium ion batteries and solar panels have an extended warranty based on number of full cycles and number of years (often 20 years @ 80% full charge cycle). These PaleBlue batteries seem to be high priced with a relatively short warranty. What is the nominal full charge voltage of these batteries? I have a number of devices which specify alkaline batteries because other rechargeable chemistry batteries have an insufficient full charge voltage? These batteries are appealing because of the number of duty cycles, long term cost efficiency, and the fact that they should not leak in expensive electronic equipment. I have 30 years of experience with alkaline batteries failing in their original packaging or worse in the devices they power (remotes, radios, electronic instruments, etc). In these uncertain times of natural disasters and grid down scenarios, the cost may be justified if the reliability and durability is present … if not it’s an expensive experiment.😎

WARNING these rechargeable can only be charged by there plug .. they will short out and fail if you put them in a standard charger. I normally love your stuff, but I use Amazon basic rechargeable (i mostly use AA and AAA) but i do have a charger for the C and D also ... the amazon basics have much larger capacity same charging times .. the only difference is you need a 20$ charger once and i run about 80 AA and AAA combo's in my house Honestly i can buy 16 AA + a charger for less than an 8 pack of those batteries and amazon basics have a larger capacity yes the kit is nice and all... but it has a ton of plastic... the amazon basics come in a cardboard box no plastic and i store my charged batteries my charger that sells for 19.99 uses USB input so i can do the same. I am disappointed on this video because you did not compare to other rechargeable batteries that are much less cost and larger capacity per battery. solar panel looks interesting but so many other options as well. but again sorry these batteries are just too expensive ..

Imagine paying for the home conversion kit (actually a little less than shown here, it was 2021 and on sale at the time, but still overall expensive) and they don't honor a warranty claim on (4) of the AA that never worked out the box. Al showed the Warranty information at the end of the video, but luckily for him he's never had to exercise it. Panasonic Eneloop ALL day, Tenergy for Ds. There are other options out there, plus your wallet will thank you. Enjoy these TME videos in general, but hard pass on Pale Blue.

As long as you use a type A to type C cable you'll be fine. But why would you want to charge one battery at a time? If you use a type C to type C cable, those are for fast charging power delivery, for devices like phones and laptops. So I would never recommend using a one of those cables, as it could short of cause a failure.
@frankromero5786

Charging a single batterie using a USB cable great idea. However, adding a USB port, led light and or moving parts to a batterie is adding failure points to a simple and basic design. I use rechargeable batteries in my xbox controllers and headsets. I use the Energizer rechargeable AA batteries $14.00 vs. $29.00 for PaleBlue for 4 batteries are the PaleBlue twice as good? I am not sure that I want to pay twice as much to "test" a new product. Thank you

Can you charge the 9v battery while it is in use? My old sprinkler timer uses a 9v for backup and I've been using another brand usb rechargeable 9v which shuts off the output while it is being charged. I'd like to keep it on charge all the time...

something says to me that the d and c batteries aresame with more paralel ones inside but i can live with that... paralel does not demands crazy balancing .. the normal charge will balance the cellls pretty nice!!!!! .. i m a diyer and i think this needed to be that good made ////years before!!!!!!! BTW my greatest belive is all power bricks from no and after need to be made to share energy with powerstations and powerstations need to have compeletely individual power input only from other low voltage sources..!! so to be possible to dump your power brick's and solar brick's energy even slowly inside a power station!!!!

when you went to charge your 9v bats you inadvertently plugged in you usb-A into the charger the wrong way, probably why it gave red light! unfortunately when Paleblue made them they didn't put the plastic in the bottom to prevent this from happening . ask me how i know , i did the same thing with my aa battery's and they went spastic . turned it around and the lights flashed as they should. I have seen post of people frying there battery's and this is most likely why! The usb symbol on the plug should face the plastic blocker in your charger.
