Great to see Dave in the house again! Not that the remote appearances by him, and others haven't been fun, but I really like your face-to-face format (not as off-the-wall as Tabletop was, not as jokey as Game the Game was, and more games I want to play than Heavy Cardboard). Your cast of players seems more like people I've played with, and want to play with, and you come off as knowledgeable about the industry and connected but not necessarily Celebrity Gamers (well, Dave, and Deborah being exceptions... and Scott and Rich... well, never mind, y'all ARE Celebrity Gamers). You give me hope I can get to play with real players again some day.
I can't believe I watched the whole thing! I enjoyed every moment of it. I don't know anyone of you but you seem such nice people to be with. Thank you very much for sharing!
Awesome to see Dave!!! Caught the twitch stream the other day and was waiting for this to drop when you mentioned Dave, was excited to see the gang back together! Another great video props to all of you 👍
Excellent game! I couldn't play because I kept dying again and again. I didn't know what I was doing wrong. Thanks to you, I know now! I watched it all and learned so much. Thanks again!
Can't tell you how happy it makes me to see you back together, it offers hope for the future. And I appreciate the wearing of masks, it sets a good example.
Let me reiterate the general sentiment of other that it creates great joy to see you guys together. Sometimes I watch you guys for game explanations, but sometimes, I just watch you guys play for the interactions. To have a "Dave rules explanation" has been sorely lacking. It seems a niche board game review video is giving hope that things may one day be back to normal. Hopefully, all have stayed safe and healthy, and I can't wait until Aaron or Mark make it back.
I love seeing you play together again! But literally the whole watch experience (so far) for me was "Craft some spears!!". I haven't gotten to the end yet, but hopefully it turns around. Keep it up gang!
Good to see your back together for once. Great game! Amazing illustrations! We've played multiple games now. We're having a hard time beating the more difficult modules, it however makes the game challanging and therefor we want to play it again! PS. I don't think you are allowed to change the sequence of the top 3 cards after picking one..?
you can change the order, I also played this wrong first 2 games. Then looked up in the rules. Sure enough, says you can return them in any order you want.
Great to see Dave but at 7:35 there's a slight error in rules explanation. The two cards from the top of your deck that you don't choose are returned to the top of the deck 😖without rearranging their order 😖(page four of the main rulebook). To make sure that you don't change the order of the cards, it's best to just fan those three cards from the top of the deck and pull the one you want from the fan, as Dave does in his demonstration.
I love that game. It was great fun to see you guys discovering it. But even if you played through all the modules it still is a great challenge. Would love to see a playthrough of the expansion pack. It adds a lot of cool stuff. Keep it up guys!
Wearing a mask while sitting shoulder-to-shoulder and touching the same game components is not "promoting safety and intelligence" - it's hygiene theater. Especially if you are already vaccinated. It's perfectly safe to game with friends. The virtue signaling needs to stop.
@@ag806 People are no longer human beings - they're vessels for disease. Imagine literally any other generation except our extremely online, over-socialized one going along with this fearful, cynical view of humanity for more than a year. As much as I enjoy this series, this episode is more demoralizing than encouraging. Get vaccinated, but don't change any behavior whatsoever!
DaaaaVe 😁😁😁 Also, my 19-year-old son works in a supermarket, and has had so much hassle from customers refusing to wear masks so thank you Game Night for setting a fantastic example.
I both loved and hated this playthrough, i understand it was the first game played by all parties, but ive never played it and i was yelling at the screen because of all the quick decisions and not thinking out all options. BUT im glad Dave is back and everybody is being safe. Thanks BGG and Gamenight!
Thank you so much for this! So good to see an in-person, real life, physical, everyone in the room playthrough... with Dave! Awesome to see you! I do have a question that’s been bothering me for a while though, and sorry if this has been asked before, but why play on the dining leaves rather than in the gaming vault of the table?
Thanks so much for the note. We do play games in both set ups, we just have been using the leaves because of our livestreaming. There is a lot of tech at the end of the table and using the vault does not work for that.-Lincoln
Dave understands that when explaining anything you must always treat your audience as stupid. What i mean by that is, he knows they are not stupid but the correct way to explain how something works is to overexplain and point out the obvious. This is what they teach call center staff. It sounds rude and patronizing but its not in the slightest. If you simply explain the rules and nothing more it can leave people confused, its better to act it out and show (although you have already said it). Strange how it works but its the best way to teach. Good job dave
In your last turns, Niki was able to get 3 FOODS with the help of Lincoln (1 perception). It would have prevented the last skull during the night, and allowed you to continue with the next day! Too bad, you were obsessed with getting stones.
You played it right, but the Englisch rules (*Then, return the other 2 cards to the top of your deck in the order of your choice) are easier, 55:50 rearranging of the cards is strictly forbidden in the German rules (*Die beiden anderen Karten, die du nicht gewählt hast, lässt du in unveränderter Reihenfolge auf deinem Stapel). Bad translation or intention? ;-)
Love to see you guys play all these games. Before I buy a game I always look if I find a playthrough. It's a good way to learn the game. I wanted to know: where can you find these beautiful token trays in all those colors? I just love them😊. A big fan from Belgium👍
Those are the Silicone Bit Bowls from the BGG Store. You can find them here: boardgamegeekstore.com/collections/organization/products/bgg-folding-bit-bowls. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
Thanks for the note and for watching! Aaron has been in almost every episode in Season 9. Here's hoping we can get them both on in the same episode.-Lincoln
probably needed to do more challenges, instead of just soaking damage so often...you take the hit either way, but if you overcome the challenge, it gets removed from play, rather than take the hit repeatedly...you know, once you have the skill/strength/resources to overcome them.
Thank god they are back to this format. I kind of hated the webcam split screen. This way it feels like Im in the room watching a bunch of dudes and gals playing games, vs the webcam way I feel like I am still working on zoom calls.
Good to see the 3 of you together again... And I think you guys could have made it to the next round, no? If at 1:18:00 Lincoln helped Niki then you guys would have got 3 more food and didn't get your last skull! Or am I wrong :-)
