I think it would be nice to explain why they're operating on a skeleton crew. They laid off a huge percentage of their team so i don't think huge updates are to be expected for a while. Being a game dev myself and having been affected by layoffs in 2023, I know how it feels. I think the players enjoying the game should be more aware of this and manifest their support to the game devs who made this fantastic game
I think they are still doing great for currently being short-staffed. Hopefully with this new, larger company being involved now that can soon enough be changed. This game seems very commited to the long-game, so I'm willing to be patient!
The thing is, that we don't ask for huuuge updates everytime, we ask for things that makes sense and that we wish/need. Like storage upgrade, a few quests etc. We really don't need more outfits (although they are beautiful but expensive), pets and buildings right now. I'm happy about the bug fixes and the home tour. Rest of it is meh...
@@chrisinreallife2022 oh don't get me wrong, i'm super impressed with the dev's work! I just want to bring awareness to the situation :) The video game industry is in shambles and it feels like not a lot of players (around me at least) are fully aware of the situation. All the profits are going to shareholders and devs are laid off
@@NorseLagertha I 100% agree with you but if you look at it in a shareholder POV, quality of life improvements doesn't bring in more players but new outfits and pets does... it's a very weird time in gaming right now where marketing and shareholders get to decide what goes into a game and what doesn't.... Which should be up to the devs in theory but sadly is not.
i need more of the story and I need more friendship level 5 quests. i really love this game but when I have no reason to interact with the characters I basically don't.
I like the update. I know they can't all be huge. I just want mainly: more flower/item slots on our plots since trees and flowers count, and I want a way to be able to send gifts (of my choosing) to my friends, as I have some stuff I'd like to share with newer ppl to the game. Hopefully these things will come some day, I know it's still early days!
The problem is that they are heavily leaning towards paid cosmetics during beta and there is no substancial new content. I love skins, I have several expensive outfits and pets and I was happy to support the devs in the beginning, but I have literally nothing left to do in the game. I'm not buying anything more until I have a reason to return to the game and this update is not it. They got themselves into a situation where they have to operate on a skeleton crew, this is just bad management
Kind of wish they cool it with the pets, they add nothing to the game. Maybe if they had some other function than just being a cling on. Also kind of funny how they added all this beach themed stuff that ONLY matches with the most expensive home plot that exists currently, and I don’t mean to be such a Debbie downer this update just rubs me wrong.
This is a nice update but totally agree with it not being a banger. Looking forward to playing the update tonight and seeing how all of these updates affect the game! Thanks for the news update Perz!
I loved the Sailor Moon inspired outfit. I had to get it, hate had to pay as much, didnt care for the wings draping over back, but then realized acted like a glider and can peter pan around :D Still, would be nice to hide them, and they come out when gliding. :)
Also, I'm currently getting NOTHING done on my own game becuz I LOVE the Home Tours! I love seeing what other ppl do, it's great inspo and just interesting. There goes the rest of my night haha!
i think home tours probably was a lot of work. I'm excited to see what everyone has been up to even outside the streaming and discord communities I belong to. I'm mimi mom ign if you wanna see my plushie ewok inspired treehouse village.
Omg that ruby was going to be the death of me. Thank god! I think there are a lot of nice things in this update but definitely not the mega update we thought it'd be. More lore and quests would be awesome.
Jukebox should have more music not just one song like paila soundtrack for example like stardew valley have with there Jukebox. Nameplate is find but i want switch to my nickname because I'm sick seeing my real name that with Nameplate
A little to the side but I am hearing in groups that hackers are being found in house tours, is this true and how do we recognise a hacker? I am hoping it’s not true but I guess if something is possible someone will do it. 🙁
I need only 2 things: 1) More than 3000 blocks (😢 I already have it) 2) More places. We have only Kilima and Bahari, it has been a lot of time, and we still have only this two.. I learned everything in Kilima and Bahari, and I really want a new places that I can explored . .. 😢
This update is pretty hefty. I'm not sure why people are complaining about it. I'm just coming back since Lunar New Year ended and tbh, if people are bored...maybe it's time to play another game for a while. This is a beta game. They already blow every other beta game out of the water.
I wouldn't say home tours was a social thing since in the wording they called it "instanced" meaning you will be by yourself... at least people will be able to leave reactions
When I say social, I mean more social activities for communities within discords. We have an IGN thread where people drop their IGN and plot they want rates, communicate with each other, etc.
I was sooo excited for the top with the wings, but I didn’t realize the skirt is attached :/ I’m transmasc and idk it might sound silly but skirts and dresses are really dysphoric for me I love mixing feminine tops and masc bottoms, I don’t understand why they don’t keep those items separate so they’re more versatile 😭 I still wouldn’t even mind having to pay for the whole bundle, just to use the top tbh. The same thing happened with the witch thing, I don’t like the top at all but it’s necessary for the glider 😭 idk anything about game dev so maybe this isn’t an easy thing to do but it’s quite a bummer. I was super super excited for the wings
transmasc here and it is not silly at all, i'm the same! i loove cute and pretty things and i also love dresses/skirts on men. it makes me so happy that outfits aren't locked to one avatar based on gender. but no matter how much i adore an outfit it's a no for me once it has a skirt. i want all the frills and sparkles but with pants and it's too hard for me to mix and match without the shoes being a separate piece.. and too expensive anyway because i would have to buy two outfits to make one.
@@Cry-byte YES!!! Exactly. Skirts are just an absolute no for me. And all the new coolest ones are just so incredible feminine only. I don’t understand why they don’t have items be individual even if you have to pay for the whole bundle like what is the logic in that 😭 maybe it’s a code thing idk. But yeah the price is just outrageous. I really wish they would release a fancy cool one and then some maybe less fancy but cheaper options, Literally even just that would make me happy. I know they have to make their money but idk it’s really seeming predatory at this point. They might as well have just charged us to play the game
Oh bloody hell.. it's not just on the tours.. just went back to my home plot and i can't see most of the fish i cauught there either! Hopefully they fix this soon too
I love the new update....I've been touring homes for awhile and I do mean awhile.. so much inspiration!! The only gripe I have is you can't see the fish properly.. can see the bugs they've got but the fish have a wierd texture.. at first I thought it was a glitched effect but not appearantly... not a deal breaker on the update but wierd.. not sure if I'm the only one noticing this..
You can still move and see the fish on your home.plot when you press control on pc (to move things around)or the button you use on switche.. to move things around.. that's a plus atm .
