Cool kid. My daughter started out helping me build a treehouse from pallets when she was 4. She's just got herself a Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

Certainly not overdone, those bins will last you for a long time. If you're going to do / make something, do it properly.

Thank you for your clear explanations, even using the names of tools and hardware - not everyone does that so well, but it is a real help to those of us who have almost no experience building things or using basic tools. I am so happy for your little girl, that she gets to watch you and often help, so she will feel comfortable and confident doing things herself as she grows! You seem like a great dad as well as a great RU-vid teacher!

I made something very similar. I recommend stapling garden cloth around the interior to keep compost material from finding its way into the pallet cavities. That will help your structure last even longer.

Love the way you tell what you did and then show what and how you did it. Most VLOGS I've watched do just the opposite, do the steps and then tell. Works better for me the way you did it. Thanks!

Just finished building a small equipment shed. Picked up every bent nail that hit the ground. 1. Don't want to puncture any tires on my tractors. 2. Expense of nails are ridiculous. Now I have a boat load of nails on my workbench awaiting straighting, but to me it's satisfying. Great video. Wished I'd seen your roof video before today, that would have really saved me some time and headache. I'm subscribed now, so keep em coming if you can.

Nails and lumber prices are going up, here locally seen lumber jump $6.00 on some items. save and reuse what you can. working on some new videos now, thank you for the sub.

So my set up is nearly identical. However for the front slats I permanently attached the two lowest ones. They help keep the whole rig stable and I never ever need to remove those bottom ones. Just thought I'd share.

I've used steel T posts, 2 per pallet which worked pretty well. just stand them up right between the slats, and pound them in til they stand alone, remove pallet then drive the posts down till flesh or slightly below top of pallet.

I kept smiling to myself while watching you use bolts, extra screws & crossbars to make it extra sturdy. My husband ALWAYS goes overboard with making something sturdy, but it never falls apart. I'm going to show him this video to convince him that a sturdy compost bin system can be built from pallets. Thanks.

Great job! I used hardware cloth on the inside of the compost bins I made our of pallets in Ireland. Worked great! I didn't go the extra mile to make it sturdy, but I will this time around in Nebraska.

Making something similar but wide enough for the tractor bucket and using posts fence posts driven in behind for support. Being able move the compost from one compartment to the other and turn it at the same time.

Bruuuuuh thank you for this video. I would say you prolly did go a bit overboard but now you can compost bricks hahaha. Super helpful man, especially how you made the gates. I have a crap ton of ship lap that I can use for that to pull out as when needed. Get that young lady some ears next time though I could hear the impact from here!! Props from Michigan brother.

Nice build but one suggestion, those pretty pieces, rose colored you used to build up the fourth side ( openings), is too nice! after all, the contents will be rotting so they are bound to spoil quickly. I'd use those to build some outdoor furniture and then put polyurethane or a stain that enhances the beauty. My suggestion, take apart some pallets and use those planks instead.

They are very nice, thank you. They are cedar (very rot resistant and cheap) dog eared fenceing. Don't worry I used. Some of them to for projects in the house, made a window sill out of one.🙂
