Another goated Pal is Vixy. If you have the Ranch built, you can toss 2 Vixy into the Ranch and they'll use their ability "Dig Here!". They'll dig up 1-2 Pal Spheres every minute or so, after about an hour you'll have a ton of Spheres to use alongside other things like Arrows and Wool. Basically unlimited resources / spheres.
yeah i was about to say, it is awesome, i have been struggling making spheres due to wood shortage, but vixy has been really helpful with both arrows and spheres.
@A_Steam_User make a lumber node structure and tame 2 of the purple deer or monkeys. They should be able to generate plenty of wood while you're out and about. It's even better if you can get lumber foreman on one or both of them since they'll generate wood increadibly fast.
By level ~20 you can defeat and catch Quivern (big dragon boi) and breed it with Chillet for super early guaranteed Anubises (level 45 boss with level 4 handiwork, level 3 mining and level 2 transporting, also extremely good in combat) :)
Lots of people don't notice the amazing Wixen, which isn't rare if you start or venture into the volcano areas. She has HANDLING LEVEL 3. And you can find her in eggs around the volcano areas. She also has a spread fire attack that hits hard, is difficult to dodge, and will murderlate you if you go up against her personally. She has many other high base abilities, too.
No, I found a lvl 18 wixen and caught it when I was lvl 14. Did take 2 trys as it 1 shot me the first time 😂 Also found a arson lvl 15 and a kelpsea ignis lvl 10 in same area
If you're struggling with the boss, remember to cycle your pals. They regain health when returned to their spheres 👍🏻 I would return them at around 1/3 hp
This is how I beat the first boss. Once my pals got low I would pull out the next one. By the time the last pal was low, the first was ready to go again.
it's not that they regain health when returned to their spheres, they regain health anyway if they're fed, it's just that they can't be hit when in the spheres
@@taichiixsan4619 I do this literally all the time during boss fights, not just against their big attacks. From my experience it is a really great tactic and a safe way to defeat bosses.
higher food quality increases productivity while lower sanity loss = less likely to injure. The better the bed, baths, and food the better their sanity maintains higher numbers without loss leading to injury@@masondella-piana6632
@@masondella-piana6632 make sure they have access to more than just berries. You'll want them to have food which also gives sanity. Baked berries and bread are good. Jam-filled buns are even better.
I find a hefty compliment of Lovanders to be pretty handy in both combat and base work. They're decent combatants, and have a good spread of leveled base camp skills as well. Early on, I got raided by some lower level Lovanders regularly, so I caught a handful and put them to work.
I've only gotten to about level 13 so far, but Daedream pretty much became my partner Pal the first time I saw them. It was at night and at first I thought they looked pretty cool, but now I know that they're cute af 😩🙏🏻 When you call them over to pat their heads and you just see them swimming towards you through the air with a smile on their face, it's pure bliss ☺️
I'm so glad to see Daedream on the list. They're my favorite pal, and honestly, the first one I go to when I need someone to help take down some wild pals.
Another bonus to Foxsparks my gf and I discovered is they also help as a heatsource when its cold if they are out with u, a light source and will also light any base placed torches u have at your base camps
@@luciamurray1838yes you can find it pretty early on, it’s on the far side of a large suspended bridge across a chasm near the autumn looking area hope that helps,
The pals of darkness combo is Great for cleaning dungeons and bosses if they are proving difficult. You can do this with your coop partners too. 4 players with 4 daydreams and an owl each makes for absolute insane nukes.
@@Borus101 they attack when you attack, so using a ranged weapon is a must. Sometimes they atk with their 1st listed ability, so setting something with aoe is usually clever.
@@reapercushions nevermind mine was just bugged they're kicking ass now, not a single one of my pals were attacking since the start so i thought that was how the game was supposed to be lmao
FYI. You can change your realm setting so that you don't drop everything when you die. Some people like the challenge and others like to play a leisurely game. The game gives flexibility for both. Before you log on to the realm you created, just click "edit realm" at the bottom of the screen.
I personally prefer no drops myself. I also like to extend day/night cycle to 0.7 instead of 1 to make it slightly longer. The base day/night seems a bit too fast for me.
I had a bug, where I spawned in the middle of water with big cliffs around me after re logging. That would have been a guarantee item lost of everything I had on me. In early access this option should be used.
This is awesome, haha thank you. I've been in this game for a few weeks now and never knew about some of their abilities. Tombat's is really cool! I should probably replace my cattivas and lamballs in my base with Lifmunk
The cat pal in the starter area is very nice at first because just having them in your party at all boosts your carry capacity. Plus because they are so common you can get a bunch for the pal essence machine where you can increase one by up to 4 stars which gives you an extra 100+ some pounds of weight, or basically two free stat points. Really easy to do by around lvl 15 when you can unlock the machine. There are other pals who have the same trait and it's more powerful, but it's more of a grind to not only get them but boost their special ability through the essence machine.
Which is why you should catch all of the Cattivas you can find and later condense them. Ideally breed one with player support abilities (Vanguard, Motivational Leader, etc), You need at least 1+4+16+32+64 Cativas for lvl 5 ability. Because the next pal that increases your carry weight is all the way in the endgame - lvl 44 for Wumpo and 45 for his grass variant Wumpo Botan. And they are much more rare so it will take forever to condense those (and you're better off breeding cause they have abysmal catchrate).
@@ytubestolemyhandle there's more that increase your carry weight. Kingpaca does 100 but you need the saddle. One of the bosses west of the starting area that has a ton of bosses on one island increases by 80. It looks kinda like a robot. Also all weight skills stack so if you don't have a grapple hook it allows you to carry more items before being too encumbered.
I'd like to correct you on one thing. If you actually catch multi versions of a pals you can fuse them together up to 5 times. Remember no evolutions. So guns and fusions Addition to leveling for power.
One thing I learned that makes most pals even better is with the move learning fruit, you can teach those moves to any pal regardless of type, want your fire type to have ice missles, do it and it definitely makes them more versatile combat wise
If you find damp eggs a pretty common hatch is surfent which is insane for battling. They have 2 ranged rapid attacks that shred bosses plus you can saddle them and ride them on water for no stamina cost.
True. Also. On the ground. Im pretty sure any land mounted pals are faster. So I wouldn't just use nitewing as a only mount for going across the flat ground. I only use him for getting up high somewhere
Incineram in the autumn area. He's a little rare but he starts with 2 handiwork and kindling. So in between making ingots, he can then go assemble half of all the things you need to use ingots on.
I managed to catch a Nox with ferocious early on, and it’s a downright despicable combo with Daedream and hootcrates. Three sources of dark damage is insane against any normal types.
DO NOT use the Daedream tactic if you plan on going on adventures and finding new pals they will melt everything even just having one out can be an issue
@@DeathTheKing187there ability makes them attack whenever the player attacks regardless, and as long as they are in your party and have the charm it’ll attack when you attack
I managed to get a Celaray early on and unlocked the gloves which allows you to mount it for extended gliding. Super helpful before you get high enough level for Nitewing to fly!
I use tombats in my mining farm and had no clue how good that skill was. I read it but thought it would be useless, didn't realize they go on compass and that large of range
underated pick but teaphant is insane early game, it's low level abilities make it shot abilities rapid fire from range (juicy dps) and the healing ability comes in handy
Everything looks good when you are 4x their levels.. keep your pals out allow them to draw aggro and tank for you. Your total dps might even be higher since you can fire your bow/gun at the same time. These combine attacks are not completely useless, but they have a very specific build to make them strong. You can even upgrade them later on. But for early games especially if you are not good at dodging, you do not want to pickup/mount ur pals. Early game, you wanna pay attention to their skill moves, some are much stronger than the others. You can find skill fruits to make them much stronger.
i really hope they add the ability to have more than one PAL out at once without using this method... i also hope they add 1-2 more slots for bringing more PALS with you.
Spent a good amount of time making one 75% attack maxed daedream. I had no idea you can have multiple out, so I gotta see if I want to make 2-3 more 😂. Maybe it’ll be easier since I already have the passives I need
I hatched one with the passive that gives +20% attack, leveled them cooking hundreds of berries at base. They're my main now 😅 I still have 4 others with good passive abilities. Two of them both have the one that boosts my mining efficiency, I use them on the team I use when I go ore gathering. On that team I alos take two of the starter cats that also raise my mining efficiency (I got lucky with the ones, I was just taking 2 to give my carry weight capacity +100) and a flying mount to search for ore nodes.
Was kinda hoping you'd have felbat I got him from a boss fight at one point and then lost the save file. He has the ability to heal you based on dark damage and using him with daedream and the crow bird that ups your dark damage while in party is OP as hell
Daedream is so strong also it spawns at night everywhere , it's special item daedream's necklace basically allows you to have out two Pal's out at once and it stacks.
Also while might wing is good. Once you level it go get a Vanwyrm instead. It has 3 different long range attacks. You can shoot enemies from render distance and better stamina in the air.
I got a Lovander early on bc of a raid. its got lvl 2 handiwork, lvl 1 mining, lvl 2 medicine production, and lvl 2 transporting so its decent as a base pal but its partner skill is nice as well. It's called Heart Drain and what it says is "While fighting together, grants the player and Lovander the life steal effect which absorbs some of the received damage and restores health." I find that nice, also it is a neutral type and it seems to be a nighttime pal in the middle of the map or in the top right. I just got lucky it was in a raid and i caught it. Also it kinda uh.... I think ppl will like the way it looks.
why did you not mention the wandering trader or any of the trader pal? the very first wandering trader that came to my base ended up gettign beat with a stick and shoved into a ball purely for science. ever since then i have my own personal store at home, and he even works around base. so yea best possible tame early game was the trader for me ;)
One that people sleep on is cattiva that you can catch at lvl 1. They mine, log, assist with building and also carry drops with increasing your max carry load. I had 5 when I started out and my base was running like clock work
I’m enjoying the duck out this game. It’s like a perfect balance between comedy and gameplay. I’ve busted out laughing a few times from the pals reactions.
Get kativa, increases your carry weight by 50 each one, and they stack so 5 pals is plus 250. Essential when farming in the beginning of the game. As you upgrade them they can carry more weight.
The daydreaming strategy is something i thought about but thought i would need multiple necklaces to have several dae’s out.. thanks for this anything over level 20 kicks my ass bad 😂
One necklace to have a whole team out. BUT!... but, I would use one spot for that dark bird that spawns at night around the area you start the game, his pal ability raises all dark pals' dark attacks!!! And!... and you don't even have to summon the bird out of their sphere for he bonus to activate!
Chillet is a pretty fast mount early game and he’s a boss so you get good XP and ancient parts. It’s towards the middle of the north West Island at the start of the game
Can't remember the name at the moment but the Grass Dragon is amazing. Lvl 2 Planting, Lvl 2 Lumbering and it hits like a truck. You wont be able to ride them for quite a while, but for in base and to beat stuff up its amazing. Chillet is also a great easy boss to catch because he has early saddle to ride and does great damage
I watched a Video, and they suggested Vixy put in the ranch place and they collect level pal balls, coins, arrows, and a few other things. I love them, I recently got the cow but I refuse for now to remove my Vixy's but the pal balls will soon not really be needed since I'm looking at moving to the mega, giga etc. I thought I wouldn't like the game but I'm finding it fun, very happy. I do have some issues with may pals getting into my house I now just leave the door open so they can get out. They also get stuck on the roof, better now that I made the walls two tiles high. But Pals seem to get lost and every now and then I have to remove and add back in the same pal because they are stuck somewhere random, like on the TOP of a tree, or I can't even find them. Maybe someday I will make a base that has a solid floor, then build solid walls, then put in a gate exit, maybe do that while I'm building the walls :) Yeah, I look forward to having a machine gun nest or something to shoot the bugs. Also I will say I hated farming berries, but then I got pets that farm, and pets that water and pets that harvest, and now farming just happens like magic. I got pals that like to cut three and like to mine, so I have rock and wood. Its all happy. Oh and I have a couple fire breathing pets that cook and make ore into ingots, and pets that freeze, its a good time for most.
i wish the Devs made a grayscale and labeled "Crafted" whenever player craft and acquired the key item for certain Pal, cuz i almost thought that i have to build Lifmunk Machine multiple times for upgrading talent level in any sort of way or for unlock every Lifmunks i captured for that certain talent
Tombat is also quite useful for setting up an ore farming base, as it has Mining level 2. The area just behind the Desolate Church travel point (in the red region) has a large number of ore boulders that can be renewably harvested if you set up a base there and deploy Tombats to mine them.
Mining skill actually means nothing. You want damage over skill. And some skills you can use with pals mine way better than letting a Tombat roam around.
Dinossom is my favorite pal. Not necessarily great in your base or w.e but I have never had so much fun. I love to take them for a ride and just obliterate everything. In particular I love to farm lamball, chikipi, Rushoar, and much more. It lets me get tons of meat early on to make some sanity food when I started to get higher quality pals that get depressed a little too easily. Not to mention it's the most fun I've ever had in a game. I absolutely love the mounted combat. You can also use air canon on the flying mounts and that's super fun and fast too, just be careful with air canon as it has smart targeting, you will accidently kill the human NPCs or accidentally piss off Mammarest >.< Note: You need a green ball or higher to catch her.
for the kindling one I kind of prefer Arsox tho, it's easy enough to find if you hunt down thug bases, iirc it has kindling lv2 as part of the team I think foxparks is a pretty good choice tho.
So most of the times, you are attacking lvl 3 mobs with lvl 17 pals, or lvl 6 thugs with on lvl 20. Aren't the numbers a "bit" inflated? You can 1shot mobs 15 under your level with almost everything, pretty easily.
daedream is great for battle, but ive found it to be extremely annoying at base. because it absolutely has to stand in front of you and you cant build anything with overlapping objects.
Idk if any other pals have this but i got lucky from a syn camp and found a jolthid crystal idk if crystal are rare or other pals have it but just want to let many people know there are crystal versions maybe
I found a giant BEE pal called....Elizabee. I stick her with 2 Beegardes and she has some really potent attack power. About as much as a Rank 1 Pal. I can only imagine this can get higher if I boost her level up.
Is there a quick way to stop daedream from attacking when equipped? I used to have him but after he killed a shiny i was trying to capture i just parked him in the box
Yeah, if you're using a controller, press the right stick and it'll bring up a context menu where you can order your pals to focus on your target, be aggressive and attack whatever, or do not attack at all
The pink little cat, catalis or whatever, they are everywhere in the beginning zones, you all know what I'm talking about. When you equip them in your team, they increase your weight capacity by 50 - and it stacks. What I did is have my main mount, and 4 of the cats, so it's basically (your base carry weight) + 200. So when you need to do bigger hauls for wood/stone/ore early game, they help speed it up a lot. It's even better if you can find them with logging/mining foreman as well which speeds up the process.
There is a pal that looks similar to vulpix and he has dig here ability and he generates pokeballs for you for free, around 20-30 a day (when assigned to a farm)
It's great for early game but those spheres phase out very quickly. There are maybe 15-20 total pals that you can capture with base spheres without losing your mind
